About The Position

Reporting to the SVP of Port Services, the Vice President of Port Services Support provides leadership and strategic direction for the Port Services Support organization across three core pillars: Data & Analytics, Operations Support, and Equipment Management. Supporting NFI’s comprehensive Port Services business—encompassing Drayage, Transload, and Global logistics—this role establishes the vision, operational infrastructure, and governance for logistics technology platforms, end-user adoption, customer implementations, equipment optimization strategies, and enterprise analytics. The VP will partner with leadership to drive customer value, operational excellence, and continuous improvement as market differentiators across the end-to-end container lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience in transportation, port services, drayage, contract logistics, global forwarding, or supply chain technology/support functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and enterprise-level financial metrics.
  • Exceptional capability to lead change, influence cross-functional executives, and drive strategic vision into operational execution.
  • Broad understanding of modern logistics technology ecosystems (TMS, WMS, telematics, BI platforms, and tracking tools) and how to leverage data to drive operational performance.
  • Strong understanding of operational financial drivers (P&L oversight) paired with executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent executive professional experience).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership across Drayage, Transload, and Global business lines to establish operational standards, enhance customer visibility, and foster continuous organizational improvement across the container lifecycle.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for major organizational, technological, and operational change management initiatives.
  • Direct, mentor, and grow a multi-tiered leadership team across Data & Analytics, Operations Support, and Equipment Management functions.
  • Build organizational capabilities, succession plans, and a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establish and/or oversee the creation of the data and analytics strategy across Port Services, defining the roadmap for business intelligence, reporting frameworks, predictive analytics, and customer visibility solutions.
  • Oversee data governance and data architecture standards to ensure data integrity, reporting consistency, and operational transparency across all core business applications.
  • Direct the overall strategy and operational alignment for Port Services technology platforms (including TMS, facility management systems, telematics, mobility applications, and tracking tools).
  • Oversee scalable onboarding protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous training programs to drive high system adoption and process compliance across all operating locations.
  • Drive executive oversight for major technology rollouts, strategic customer account implementations, and system enhancements to maximize operational velocity and service reliability.
  • Establish the strategic framework, product vision, and operational controls for chassis management tools, equipment tracking, and asset utilization across drayage and transload networks.
  • Oversee programs and operational safeguards designed to maximize asset efficiency and mitigate financial risks related to equipment dwell, demurrage, and detention.
  • Establish, govern, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational scorecards to evaluate technology utilization, data quality, asset velocity, and departmental effectiveness.
  • Lead executive review processes to drive consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across all port markets and logistics networks.
  • Maintain executive oversight of departmental budgeting, financial forecasting, technology spend, vendor management, and resource allocation to align with business growth and profitability targets.
  • Lead strategic alignment between Port Services Operations, Information Technology, Safety/Risk, Finance, Maintenance, and Human Resources to streamline workflows, driver administration, customer invoicing, and financial settlement.
  • Lead high-priority strategic initiatives assigned by the SVP of Port Services.
  • Executive flexibility to support key deployments, system launches, or critical operational events as needed.
