About The Position

This physician executive role is responsible for the overall strategic, clinical, and operational leadership of the service line across the Division. The position plays a lead role in driving outstanding performance by physicians and APPs, overseeing area clinical leaders, and building strategy for care delivery, quality performance, growth, strategic hiring, service line budgets, and enterprise integration. The role involves a balanced commitment of approximately 50% leadership responsibilities and 50% direct patient care, offering the opportunity to lead strategic and operational initiatives while maintaining an active clinical practice.

Requirements

  • MD or DO Degree
  • Board Certification in a clinical discipline
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school
  • 10 years of experience in leading and developing quality initiatives, improvements, and programs, including appropriate metrics and benchmarks.
  • Experience in or knowledge of healthcare services throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

  • Identification, implementation, tracking, and course correction of NSL-specific Process Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Partnering with Quality leadership to develop system-wide strategic initiatives and objectives around quality and patient safety, ensuring effective implementation and function of quality and clinical effectiveness programs.
  • Providing input on physician compensation models to align with organizational goals and objectives, and participating in the Physician Compensation Committee.
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and achieving budget goals for the service line.
  • Managing service line resource utilization.
  • Developing physician and APP productivity expectations and managing individual performance to these expectations.
  • Deploying, spreading, and sustaining new delivery models, practice locations, and practice consolidations in collaboration with Division and Medical Group leadership.
  • Determining new market growth strategies/plans and driving execution of established market expansion plans.
  • Developing physician/APP growth plans to ensure a balance of providers supporting all missions and delivering high-quality/value care.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders in the delivery of the Advocate Health model of care for the SVC LINE within the Division.
  • Assisting in the process for new practice acquisitions, developing new managed network relationships, and assimilating these groups into Advocate Health.
  • Ensuring integration, adoption, and deployment of Advocate Health REWIRE 2030 Strategies with a focus on Quality & Service, and System of Systems of Care.
  • Supporting the adoption, deployment, and sustainability of all strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting training programs aligned to the service line within the division.
  • Supporting clinical research endeavors within the division in collaboration with the Vice Dean.
  • Ensuring physician and APP satisfaction and morale within the service line.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with employed and aligned Physicians and APPs.
  • Identifying and developing future leaders among the medical staff, focusing on communication, organizational understanding, and relationship development.
  • Identifying and recognizing physicians who excel in quality, service, efficiency, and the continuum of care.
  • Overseeing Division clinical care delivery leadership, including planning and day-to-day management.
  • Directing strategic hiring and physician manpower planning to achieve organizational goals and optimum use of clinical resources.
  • Serving as the primary physician liaison with physician recruiting, assuring onboarding, credentialing, and other HR functions.
  • Representing Advocate Health to the community as appropriate.
