About The Position

Salas O’Brien is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Southern California team. This role has a distinct leadership focus on driving the Healthcare market strategy. It is a high-impact opportunity for a proven technical leader ready to shape, build, and lead a regionally specialized electrical team focused on healthcare projects. The position involves serving as a key leader for the Southern California Electrical team, with a focus on building and leading a dedicated team in Tustin, CA. The role will lead strategy, growth, and technical delivery for healthcare, science, and technology clients. The successful candidate will build and grow a specialized team of electrical engineers and designers focused on healthcare, science, and technology projects, with team members reporting directly to them. They will also act as both Project Manager and Engineer-of-Record on projects, coordinating with local electrical leaders to supplement team resources as needed. A key aspect of the role involves connecting and strengthening healthcare MEP offerings across Southern California, collaborating with counterparts in other disciplines and offices. The team will be supported with BIM and setup resources, allowing them to focus on core engineering and design. Client development and support are crucial, including pursuing and winning new clients and projects in the healthcare, science, and technology sectors. Travel is expected to be weekly to bi-weekly, based on project and client needs.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field.
Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) in California preferred
Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering and project management, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects
Minimum of 8 years of HCAI/OSHPD experience
Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high-performing technical teams
Strategic thinker with the ability to influence, integrate, and align teams across regions
Strong client relationship and business development skills
Effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners
