About The Position

Civis is hiring a Vice President, Sales & Professional Services to drive revenue growth as we expand our SaaS platform and launch standalone AI products. We serve mission-driven organizations including nonprofits like Doctors Without Borders, Feeding America, and Human Rights Campaign, as well as government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. Civis has a high-margin SaaS platform and professional services business with strong delivery teams and capacity for growth. We need a sales leader who can build pipeline discipline, coach our sales & marketing team, and drive new ARR — while maintaining the profitability and quality of our services delivery. As VP, you'll report directly to the CEO as part of our leadership team. Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000 base + variable compensation tied to revenue growth

Requirements

  • 10+ years selling and delivering technical solutions (SaaS, data/analytics, systems integration, or professional services)
  • Proven track record building pipeline from scratch and hitting revenue targets in B2B environments ($50k-$250k deal sizes)
  • Experience managing small sales teams (1-5 people) and making them productive
  • Hands-on closer who will personally sell alongside the team
  • Leadership experience overseeing technical delivery teams (data science, engineering, or consulting)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow customer accounts
  • Strong understanding of data engineering, data science, and modern analytics technologies
  • Comfortable operating at small scale without large budgets or teams
  • Blend of technical expertise and sales acumen wrapped in a customer-centric mentality
  • US work authorization required

Responsibilities

  • Own go-to-market strategy for our core data platform and growing AI product portfolio
  • Maintain customer relationships at key accounts and serve as point of escalation (this is a customer-facing role)
  • Oversee Professional Services Delivery
  • Maintain margins and delivery excellence across Applied Data Science, platform implementation, and client success teams
  • Ensure sales commitments align with delivery capacity and capabilities
  • Protect team utilization, morale, and service quality while scaling customer base
  • Own ARR growth target through new customer acquisition
  • Build and manage sales pipeline with rigor: forecasting, deal progression, close plans
  • Implement marketing to build awareness, generate qualified leads, and convert pipeline
  • Personally close strategic deals and coach team through complex opportunities
  • Manage and develop team of account executive, account manager, solutions architect, and marketing specialist (build accountability, coaching, performance management)
  • Establish metrics, cadence, and team performance standards
  • Build repeatable processes and materials that scale
