About The Position

Motorsport Network is a global media, technology, and events platform reaching over 40 million fans. The company operates brands like Motorsport.com and Autosport, delivering content and experiences across motorsport, automotive, and mobility. Backed by GMF Capital, Motorsport Network partners with leading brands. This role focuses on owning commercial relationships within the Financial Services, FinTech, and Travel sectors. The motorsport audience is described as commercially valuable, demographically skewed towards high-income, brand-engaged consumers with an affinity for financial products and technology. The VP, Head of Industry will be responsible for changing the current monetization of this audience. This is a senior client-facing role, acting as the face of Motorsport Network to C-suite and VP-level decision-makers. The individual will shape go-to-market strategies, influence product and content, and establish Motorsport Network as an indispensable partner. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, understanding regulatory landscapes, compliance constraints, media buying dynamics, and creative possibilities, translating this into commercially transformative outcomes.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of senior commercial experience in media, sponsorship, or marketing partnerships.
  • Direct sector exposure in at least one of: Financial Services, FinTech, or Travel.
  • Demonstrable network of senior relationships with brand-side marketing decision-makers and agency partners across target sectors.
  • Proven track record of closing large, complex, multi-year partnership deals (ideally seven-figure) at a media, sports, or entertainment property.
  • Deep understanding of the digital media and advertising landscape, including programmatic, branded content, video, and integrated sponsorship models.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance considerations that govern advertising in financial services and gambling categories.
  • Credibility and commercial sophistication to operate as a peer to VP and C-level clients.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at or closely with a sports media property, rights holder, or premium publisher with financial services or technology clients.
  • Understanding of how technology and FinTech brands approach audience targeting, performance measurement, and partnership ROI differently from traditional advertisers.
  • Familiarity with how AI, connectivity, and consumer technology brands are increasingly activating through sport and motorsport.
  • Track record of building practices or verticals from scratch.
  • Comfort operating in a globally distributed, fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Genuine interest in motorsport and the high-performance automotive world.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver annual revenue targets across Financial Services, FinTech, and Travel verticals.
  • Define go-to-market strategies for each sector, including priority accounts, deal structures, and pricing frameworks.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline with accurate forecasting.
  • Serve as the primary executive relationship holder for key brand and agency partners.
  • Operate at C-suite and VP level with clients, acting as a strategic advisor.
  • Navigate complex agency ecosystems to influence planning and buying decisions.
  • Originate, structure, and close multi-platform, multi-year partnerships spanning digital media, branded content, sponsorship, video, social, and experiential.
  • Work with editorial, creative, and product teams to develop bespoke solutions.
  • Champion client needs internally to ensure commercial offerings evolve.
  • Maintain working knowledge of advertising regulations governing financial services (e.g., FCA, SEC/FINRA).
  • Ensure partnership proposals comply with client compliance reviews.
  • Serve as an internal resource for compliance-adjacent questions.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of sector competitive dynamics, media investment trends, and audience strategies.
  • Translate client and market intelligence into strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Represent Motorsport Network at high-profile industry events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with global sales colleagues to share sector expertise.
  • Partner with marketing and communications to develop sector-specific thought leadership and case studies.
  • Contribute to the development of Motorsport Network’s broader commercial strategy.

Benefits

  • On Target Earnings $250K to $375K (includes Base plus variable compensation)
  • Compensation package will depend on experience and training.
