About The Position

The Vice President Sales and Marketing will lead a business sales and marketing team to drive profitable growth. This role involves developing and executing sales plans by segment and geography, integrating with company quality and performance objectives. The position also requires leading demand planning, forecasting, and SIOP processes to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently. Continuous improvement and customer satisfaction will be driven by using KPIs and customer feedback. The role supports customer complaint resolution and quality improvement initiatives, and drives brand and product visibility through digital channels, events, and customer outreach aligned with strategic goals. Collaboration with Marketing Shared Service is key to ensure initiatives are compliant with applicable standards and regulations, and that the company’s online presence is maintained and strengthened. Accuracy and reliability of pricing databases and systems are essential. The role implements margin-improvement strategies using data analysis, with a focus on customer and item profitability. Partnership with Marketing and IT Shared Services functions is required to optimize adoption of CRM and implement e-Commerce tools that improve efficiency of customer interactions and quality of customer data. Participation in strategic planning cycles, including five-year and annual plans, is expected. The role also involves evaluating sales incentive structures and recommending improvements, leading a culture of accountability and performance through coaching, mentoring, and structured feedback, and ensuring competency requirements are met through onboarding, training, and development programs. Leading customer and market development activities, including product launches and new market entry, is a core responsibility. The VP will serve as company representative at executive-level meetings and customer engagements, and recommend and support New Product Development opportunities, M&A targets, market expansion efforts, and intellectual property strategy. Oversight of CRM, enhancements to ERP (D365), and pricing database implementations related to commercial operations is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on business administration, sales or marketing.
  • 15+ years of progressive sales and marketing experience, with at least 7+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams (U.S., Canada, Mexico, and international markets).
  • Strong knowledge of sales metrics, performance analysis, and market development.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, public relations, and trade show coordination.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred), e-commerce, CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and pricing analytics.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Pricing Admin) to execute well across multiple geographies.

  • Demonstrated success in: Leading national and international sales teams, Developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans, Implementing or managing ERP and CRM systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce), Managing pricing administration and revenue/profitability analysis, Participating in or leading M&A evaluations and integration.

  • Experience with sales of both commodity and engineered products in the transportation industry preferred.
