About The Position

SAP National Security Services (SAP NS2) delivers secure cloud solutions supporting the U.S. Federal Government and organizations operating in highly regulated environments. As SAP NS2 expands its SaaS portfolio, this role will shape secure cloud engineering, operations, and platform enablement by leading the Enterprise SaaS Operating Model & Engineering Enablement. The Executive Mission is to build and continuously evolve SAP NS2's enterprise SaaS operating model. Success is measured by accelerating secure software delivery, improving operational resilience and customer experience, increasing engineering productivity through platform capabilities and automation, and building a scalable operating model for SaaS growth. The organizational scope includes Platform Engineering Enablement, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Operations, Application Operations, Database Operations, Release Engineering, Technical Support, and Operational Governance & Security. The role aims to achieve strategic business outcomes such as accelerating secure software delivery, standardizing enterprise SaaS operations, leading multi-cloud platform operations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), building secure-by-design operations (DevSecOps, supply chain security, container security, runtime protection, policy-as-code, continuous compliance), and increasing engineering productivity through automation, AI-assisted operations, observability, Infrastructure as Code, and self-service platform services.

Requirements

  • 15+ years executive leadership in SaaS/cloud engineering or operations.
  • Experience leading DevOps, SRE, Cloud Operations, Database Operations, Release Engineering, and Support.
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes and multi-cloud platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, IaC, observability, DevSecOps, and platform engineering.
  • Executive communication and organizational leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience managing teams in a Managed Cloud Delivery environment with 24x7 operations.
  • A strong understanding of SAP BASIS, HANA, Linux/Windows administration, and cloud engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling customer escalations and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position requires access to customer data.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise SaaS operating model.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to improve DORA metrics and engineering productivity.
  • Improve platform reliability, observability, incident management, and resilience.
  • Build and mentor high-performing technical leadership teams including SAP BASIS administrators, Hana DBAs, Linux/Windows Administrators and Cloud Engineers.
  • Drive continuous improvement using automation and AI.
  • Communicate operational strategy and business outcomes to executive leadership.
  • Directly engage in customer calls, addressing and resolving escalations including P1, P2, and P3 incidents in our 24x7 operational environment.
