The Vice President of Retail is responsible for the overall operational performance, growth strategy, profitability and people leadership across approximately 140 retail locations. This executive leadership role provides strategic direction for field operations while ensuring alignment between company vision, operational execution and long-term scalability. The VP of Retail leads Regional Directors and cross-functional operational initiatives to deliver exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance and a high-performing culture rooted in accountability, development and operational excellence. This role serves as a key business partner to executive leadership and plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth across the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive multi-unit leadership experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant, car wash or related industries.
  • Minimum 5+ years leading senior field leaders across large geographic regions.
  • Proven success managing large-scale operations with full P&L accountability.
  • Experience leading organizations with 100+ locations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support company growth, profitability and scalability across all retail locations.
  • Lead and develop Regional Directors to achieve operational, financial and cultural objectives.
  • Translate company vision into actionable operational priorities and measurable results.
  • Drive organizational alignment and consistency across all markets and regions.
  • Champion a culture focused on accountability, execution, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and partner to executive leadership on operational performance and growth opportunities.
  • Lead operational planning for new market expansion, acquisitions and integration efforts.
  • Maintain accountability for company-wide operational performance including sales growth, profitability, labor management and key operational KPIs.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, guest experience expectations and company initiatives across all locations.
  • Analyze operational trends and performance metrics to identify opportunities, risks and corrective actions.
  • Drive operational efficiency and scalability through process improvement and performance management.
  • Oversee performance of approximately 140 retail locations through Regional Directors and field leadership teams.
  • Ensure operational readiness and execution during periods of rapid growth and change.
  • Build, lead and develop high-performing field leadership teams.
  • Create and maintain succession planning strategies for key operational leadership roles.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR to strengthen recruiting strategies and leadership pipelines.
  • Foster an engaging and performance-driven culture that supports retention and leadership development.
  • Coach and develop Regional Directors and senior operational leaders through regular feedback, accountability and performance management.
  • Promote leadership consistency and alignment across all regions.
  • Partner with Marketing to support national and local growth initiatives, promotions and guest engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure policy compliance, employee relations support and organizational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Facilities, IT and Learning & Development to support operational readiness and execution.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting and labor optimization initiatives.
  • Provide operational leadership for implementation of new technologies, systems and operational programs.
