On the ground, dnata USA keeps 27 of the country’s major airports connected – both with each other and the world - including John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City. Handling 200,000 tonnes of cargo, guiding 15,000,000 passengers and keeping 50,000 flights in the air each year, the work that the dnata USA team complete on the ground is crucial to keeping the country in the air. As Vice President – Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of Safety Management Systems, HS&E programs, and training strategies across dnata USA’s network. The role is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture that prioritizes accountability, team engagement, and regulatory compliance, while leveraging data-driven insights to drive continuous performance improvement and ensure the highest levels of safety for employees, customers, and the travelling public. This role is based in Orlando, Florida

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Health or Aviation Management or Risk Management or related fields is preferable) plus 5–10 years of relevant safety, training, and/or HS&E experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong experience with safety metrics, data analysis, reporting tools, and performance dashboards
  • In-depth knowledge of safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement practices
  • Proficient in relevant software applications and systems
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines independently
  • Decisive, detail-oriented, and able to balance collaboration with firm compliance oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, engage teams, and drive a strong safety culture

Responsibilities

  • Execute dnata’s safety strategy across all U.S. divisions in alignment with global standards; develop and continuously enhance Safety Management Systems, HS&E policies, procedures, training, and quality programs.
  • Lead HSE initiatives (e.g., behavioural safety, campaigns, technology) through gap analysis and cross-functional coordination; maintain annual plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Oversee safety systems (including MetricStream), ensuring robust data capture, analysis, risk assessment, and reporting through dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and internal standards; conduct audits, manage HS&E records, and oversee incident reporting and investigations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, tracking performance to ensure delivery against financial targets.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture, embedding safety, quality, and sustainability across the organization; coach and support leadership on best practices.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to executive and station leadership on safety performance, trends, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to “The dnata Way” and local regulations; maintain documentation, training materials, and effective communication of updates.
  • Assess and mitigate risks, ensuring decisions are made with appropriate due diligence, authority levels, and stakeholder consultation.
  • Set clear objectives, drive accountability, and enable team performance through effective support, resourcing, and development.
  • Partner with HR on talent management and succession planning to address capability gaps and build a high- performance workforce.
  • Lead by example to embed safety-first behaviours, accountability, and alignment with dnata’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
