This position serves a dual role as the Vice President for Presidential Initiatives and the Chief of Staff to the President at UT San Antonio. It is a Cabinet-level position located at the executive offices on the Academic Campus. The Vice President for Presidential Initiatives role focuses on developing and executing strategic presidential initiatives aligned with the President's annual work plan, including special projects, strategic relationship support, institutional advocacy, and executive communication strategies. This role will manage initiatives of varying scales and complexities, formulating analysis, strategy, and communication to shape the institution's trajectory and acting as a thought leader in higher education, research, academics, and public/private partnerships. The Chief of Staff to the President role involves representing the President's interests by coordinating and advancing Presidential initiatives, enterprise risk management, KPI tracking, special projects, and priorities. This role includes managing the Office of the President and its components: Special Events and Protocol, Administrative Operations, Presidential Initiatives, and Presidential Communications. It also entails supporting the President in time management, providing strategic and analytical support, and overseeing special projects to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and annual plans.
