About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for the visionary and strategic leadership in the planning and operation of UC Irvine Health’s hospital operations functions, providing executive oversight for complex, multidisciplinary operations to drive strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement. Responsible for oversight and implementation of operational program planning and development, financial management (operating budgets, revenue and expense management, capital equipment, etc.), strategic planning, process improvement, customer service, patient satisfaction, and policies and procedures development and implementation, and ultimately, the overall operations of the assigned areas and departments. Ensures programs and services are compliant with UC administrative and business policies, as well as federal, state, local, and accreditation agency regulations. May provide oversight of enterprise-wide operational functions, such as Environmental Services (EVS), Facilities Management, Public Safety, etc. as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong planning, financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong management experience in healthcare administration with emphasis on management of ancillary services to include Laboratory services and regulatory compliance.
  • Skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of progressive management responsibility.
  • Marketing knowledge and skills to successfully promote assigned programs and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization.
  • Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Responsibilities
