Wolfson Children's Hospital, a nationally recognized pediatric hospital and a member of Baptist Health, is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple clinical, clinical support, and non-clinical service lines. This executive leader will be responsible for developing and overseeing high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated programs that advance exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and organizational growth. We are seeking an innovative healthcare executive with a demonstrated history of leading complex hospital operations, service line strategy, physician partnerships, and multidisciplinary teams. The Vice President of Operations will collaborate closely with executive leadership, physicians, nursing, and operational leaders to drive strategic initiatives, optimize performance, and ensure exceptional quality, safety, and patient experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive executive healthcare leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex hospital operations, service line management, strategic planning, program development, operational integration, and performance improvement initiatives required.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across clinical, operational, and administrative functions within a complex health system required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with physician practices, pediatric specialty programs, academic medical leaders, and regional healthcare stakeholders preferred.
  • Pediatric healthcare leadership and integrated health system experience strongly preferred.
  • Doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline
  • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for multiple clinical, clinical support, and non-clinical departments across Wolfson Children's Hospital and Baptist Health.
  • Lead the development, integration, and continuous improvement of high-quality, cost-effective programs that support operational excellence and outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Provide executive oversight for system-wide service lines, including Children's Cardiac Care and Neurosciences, as well as key clinical departments including Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), and Interventional Radiology.
  • Provide leadership for clinical support services, including Respiratory Therapy, Neurodiagnostics, and Cardiology, as well as non-clinical operational departments, including Auxiliary Services.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support organizational priorities.
  • Drive operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, financial stewardship, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Lead strategic planning, program development, service line expansion, and operational integration across both pediatric and adult services where system responsibilities exist.
  • Foster strong partnerships with physician practices, pediatric specialty programs, academic affiliates, and regional healthcare organizations to support innovation and growth.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve operational efficiency, patient access, quality outcomes, and the overall patient experience.
