Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development

STACK Construction TechnologiesCincinnati, OH
$165,000 - $200,000Remote

About The Position

STACK is hiring a Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development to build and lead the function responsible for how STACK grows beyond its own product roadmap – through partnerships, integrations, and acquisitions. You'll own two closely related mandates: building a partner ecosystem that extends STACK's reach into the contractor's daily workflow, and leading corporate development work that identifies, evaluates, and executes on acquisitions and strategic investments. Partnerships is the day job – roughly 70% of your time, and the basis on which your first year is judged. Corporate development is episodic: two to three serious processes a year, run alongside the partner motion rather than instead of it. You'll report to the CEO/CRO, with Finance and Legal supporting deal execution and an existing partner manager/a partner hire in your first two quarters supporting the ecosystem work.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate development, private equity/venture capital, management consulting, or strategic partnerships – ideally with both deal execution and partnership-building experience behind you
  • A demonstrated track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing partnership agreements
  • Strong financial and analytical skills: comfort building and defending a model, not just reviewing one someone else built
  • Experience operating in a high-growth SaaS environment; vertical software or construction industry experience is a meaningful plus
  • Excellent executive presence – comfortable presenting to STACK's board, a partner's exec team, and a room of enterprise-level customers
  • A builder's mindset: you're energized by creating a function and a process from scratch rather than running an existing playbook

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and close partnerships with complementary platforms in the construction ecosystem – accounting and ERP systems, financial services, equipment and materials suppliers, and industry associations
  • Build and own the partner strategy: which categories of partner matter most to STACK's customers, and why – rather than who's willing to sign
  • Build durable relationships with partner executives and their field teams, so integrations turn into referrals and joint pipeline
  • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements, from technical integrations to co-sell and referral arrangements, in coordination with Legal and Finance
  • Own partner performance post-signature – this function is accountable for partnerships that generate real pipeline and retention value, not just logos on a slide
  • Build STACK's M&A strategy and pipeline: identify acquisition targets and strategic investment opportunities aligned with the product and market roadmap
  • Lead build-vs-partner-vs-buy analysis for new market or product opportunities, working directly with the executive team and Product leadership
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on post-acquisition integration planning, so deals translate into real product and team outcomes, not just closed transactions
  • Deliver market and competitive landscape analysis to the executive team and board to inform strategic planning

Benefits

  • health insurance (medical, dental & vision)
  • life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • paid time off
