The Vice President of Public Sector will be an independent and entrepreneurial business and sales leader, fully responsible for "owning" the public sector business and driving the commercial success of eFax’s FedRAMP High certified solution, ECFax. This role requires an individual who is tech-savvy, thrives in ambiguity, takes full ownership of their results, and is not afraid of being held accountable. The ideal candidate will be a strategic builder who is both creative and data-driven, focused on accelerating existing growth while evolving the business into a sustainable, long-term operation in the federal and SLED markets. The VP will act as both a strategic leader and a hands-on manager, bridging the gap between our commercial heritage and the unique needs of our government clients, with an overarching goal to evolve the public sector business within the Consensus portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in public sector sales, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling a public sector business, with a history of exceeding revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling software-as-service (SaaS) or cloud-based solutions to government entities.
  • Deep understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other public sector procurement processes.
  • Working knowledge of FedRAMP requirements and cloud solution sales in a government context.
  • A deep understanding of the intricacies of the public sector, including the Defense, Intelligence Community, and Civilian agency landscapes.
  • Experience with CRM and sales enablement platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture and translate a vision into a clear, actionable plan.
  • Problem-Solving: Resourcefulness to overcome unique challenges in the public sector sales cycle.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and diplomacy skills to manage varied internal and external stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, "build-it" mentality with the ability to thrive in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Possess a strong technical acumen to understand and articulate the complexities of a FedRAMP High certified SaaS solution.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a security clearance with the U.S. Government is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a plus.
  • An existing network not only within the partnership and potential customer community, but also to recruit from for different kinds of roles as the team scales over time.
  • Experience in both large, established companies and smaller, high-growth environments.
  • Prior experience in a role with direct reporting responsibility to a senior executive.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Vision: Develop and execute a comprehensive federal and SLED go-to-market strategy, identifying key agencies, states, and opportunities to drive significant revenue growth, with a primary focus on the ECFax solution.
  • Business Acceleration: Drive the success of the existing VA deployment, identifying and executing on opportunities for expansion and partnership within the account.
  • Partnership and Channel Management: Establish, manage, and scale a robust ecosystem of partnerships with systems integrators (SIs), value-added resellers (VARs), and other key players in the public sector space. This includes both the expansion of our overall ecosystem and the hands-on management and evolution of existing relationships.
  • Sales and Business Development: Actively engage in new sales opportunities, providing leadership and guidance to the sales team, and serving as a key spokesperson for eFax in the public sector market.
  • Product and Technology Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the public sector customer to the product and technology teams, providing realistic and actionable feedback on market needs, regulatory requirements, and competitive differentiators specific to the ECFax solution.
  • Team Leadership: Build on and mentor the existing team, strategically expanding it to strike the optimal balance between growing the business and scaling our talent, leveraging a strong network to recruit for different kinds of roles.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent eFax at key public sector industry events, conferences, and forums, building brand awareness and credibility. Moderate webinars and speak publicly on relevant industry topics.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure the public sector strategy is seamlessly integrated and supported across the organization.
  • Assist in developing public sector-specific marketing materials and case studies.
  • Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure all public sector activities adhere to regulations.
