About The Position

Power Monitors, Inc. (PMI) is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead their entire commercial engine. This executive role will command sales and marketing as one integrated function, taking full accountability for revenue across all products. PMI is at a significant inflection point with major product launches including new instrumentation, cloud software, and an AI-powered analysis engine. This position is crucial for capturing market opportunity and requires a leader with authority over both sales and marketing functions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of B2B sales and marketing leadership with complex technical products.
  • 3+ years of experience at a senior or VP level.
  • Proven track record of growing a commercial operation.
  • Experience selling into utilities, industrial facilities, engineering firms, or adjacent energy markets.
  • Fluency in both relationship-driven hardware sales and modern SaaS go-to-market strategies.
  • Comfort introducing genuinely new technology.
  • Executive presence, credible with C-suite buyers, utility boards, and conference audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • AI/ML commercialization experience.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of PMI’s commercial targets across instrumentation hardware, PQ Canvass cloud subscriptions, and Merlin AI.
  • Manage the commercial introduction of new products: Seeker+ analyzer, SVM Series monitor, and the rewritten PQ Canvass platform.
  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for Merlin AI, targeting traditionally conservative buyers and exploring platform, OEM, and white-label opportunities.
  • Lead European market entry, including market selection, channel strategy, regulatory path, and launch.
  • Lead and coach the territory sales team, establish pipeline discipline in HubSpot, and cultivate strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Oversee demand generation, content strategy, trade publications, and PMI’s presence at key industry events like IEEE PES and DistribuTECH.
  • Drive customer success and retention, leveraging the existing installed base for expansion revenue, referrals, and customer insights.
  • Manage pricing, deal structures, and forecasting for both hardware and software sales.
