About The Position

We are looking for an innovative and strategic Vice President of People to join our team. This role will report to the President of Contour and will support the executive and leadership teams on organizational planning, developing and implementing new Company programs, policies and practices, aligning the Human Resources strategy and supporting the Company’s objectives to build a high-performance culture with individuals who are competent, results-driven, and committed to excellence. The Vice President of People provides executive-level leadership, guidance, and HR support to Contour’s operations. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of Human Resources management experience required, with significant experience in strategic planning, talent management, and/or business development strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working for a Part 121 and/or Part 135 air carrier is required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as related business software.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a required 10-year work history review and criminal background check.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and customer-service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills required.
  • Must possess well-developed people skills and the ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and personalities.

  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and professional manner while complying with all applicable OSHA, EPA, state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training management level personnel and the Human Resources staff.
  • Responsible for development of various training programs based on Company’s needs.
  • Oversight of the daily workflow of the HR Department.
  • Provide constructive and timely evaluations for the HR Department.
  • Oversight of the Company’s disciplinary and termination policies to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s Human Resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the Human Resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
  • Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Oversight of the Company’s DOT/FAA approved drug and alcohol misuse prevention program.
  • Oversight of the Company’s workers’ compensation program to ensure compliance with various local and state laws.
  • Promote Contour’s reputation as “best place to work”.
