The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Vice President of People & Culture to serve as a visible champion and culture driver, translating the YMCA's mission, values, and leadership expectations into meaningful experiences throughout the team member lifecycle. This role will lead the YMCA's Culture Champions, use engagement data to identify trends and improve the team member experience, and coach leaders to create healthy, inclusive, and high-performing teams. The position provides strategic leadership for the YMCA's integrated talent strategy, including talent reviews, development planning, succession planning, career pathways, and leadership development. It ensures talent and development strategies produce measurable outcomes in leadership capability, internal mobility, retention, and organizational readiness. The role also leads and strengthens the YMCA's HR business partnership model, serving as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leaders on complex workforce, leadership, employee relations, and organizational matters. The Vice President will partner with Operations on workforce and recruitment strategy and lead through organizational change with empathy and sound judgment. As the CPO's primary deputy, this role translates People & Culture strategy into coordinated priorities and execution, leads and develops the People & Culture senior leadership team, and provides leadership oversight for employee benefits and HRIS. The position oversees the People & Culture budget and represents People & Culture with executive leadership and across the association.
