About The Position

The Vice President of Operations will report directly to the President and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of construction operations, including Field Operations, Project Management, Purchasing & Warehouse, Safety, and Quality. The VP of Operations will ensure seamless execution from preconstruction through project completion- delivering projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with company standards. This leader will drive operational excellence, scalability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction operations
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale field operations and cross-functional teams
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software platforms
  • Deep knowledge of construction practices, safety standards, quality control, and OSHA regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in utility, infrastructure construction or renewables, including wireless telecommunications or electrical sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership over all operational functions, ensuring alignment between project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and field execution
  • Contribute to strategic planning, business reviews, and organizational decision-making as a core member of the leadership team
  • Report on operational performance, production metrics, and key challenges to the President
  • Analyze and drive operational performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, cost control, and execution.
  • Provide strategic operating leadership by building systems and process and instilling discipline that results in consistent and systematic results. Ensure that core processes for project management, cost control, forecasting, and reporting are being used consistently.
  • Lead with strong financial discipline, ensuring projects meet budget, margin, and timeline expectations
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class quality, and compliance programs, including proactive quality management initiatives
  • Develop and lead safety initiatives that ensure a safe work environment and full regulatory compliance (including OSHA standards)
  • Partner with Field Operations leadership to optimize workforce planning and resource allocation
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, warehouse, and material operations for the company, ensuring materials, vendors, and subcontractors are sourced cost-effectively and delivered on time
  • Communicate strategic priorities, policies, and operational updates across the organization
  • Other duties as assigned.
