About The Position

The Vice President of Operations directs and controls operational requirements for WE Transport LLC and manages day-to-day operations across business units through a network of operational leaders. The role provides operational strategy and oversight aligned with the company’s strategic plan, rolls out programs, promotes operational safety, and ensures operational metrics are met. The position also supports communication and retention strategies across the operations team and collaborates with other departments and department heads to execute company strategy.

WE Transport / Towne Bus is a Long Island-based school bus company serving districts in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York City, Westchester County, and Bridgeport, Connecticut. Its services include special needs transportation and transportation for wheelchair-bound individuals.

Requirements

• Ten years of progressive management experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• College degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the transportation industry.

• Advanced degree (MBA, MA, or MS).

Responsibilities

• Direct and control operational requirements on behalf of the company.
• Manage day-to-day operations by business unit through a network of operational leaders.
• Provide operational strategy and oversight based on the company’s strategic plan.
• Roll out new programs, promote operational safety, and ensure operational metrics are met.
• Host meetings, seminars, and conferences.
• Promote communication of company initiatives throughout the operations management team for dissemination.
• Help coordinate retention strategies within the operations team.
• Collaborate with other departments and department heads to execute strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
