Vice President of Marketing

LevelTen EnergySeattle, WA
$160,000 - $190,000Hybrid

About The Position

LevelTen Energy is on a mission to accelerate the energy transition. We run the world’s largest clean energy marketplace, connecting buyers and sellers, and enabling them to get deals done faster with cutting-edge market intelligence reports and software, and transaction tools. Since being founded in 2016, LevelTen’s platform has facilitated over $14.8 billion in clean energy transactions. Join us on a mission that matters. LevelTen Energy is hiring a Vice President of Marketing to lead the company through its next phase of growth. This is a role for a versatile leader with significant global leadership experience — someone who spans brand, product marketing, demand generation and communications, who has built and motivated high-performing distributed teams, and who is as comfortable setting strategy as executing it. You'll join a smart, global team working on meaningful solutions to the climate crisis, and we have a good time doing it.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years in marketing and communications.
  • 5 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing marketing teams in a global environment.
  • Business acumen that connects marketing decisions to pipeline, pricing and growth targets.
  • Impeccable writing skills, with the ability to calibrate content depth, voice, and tone across diverse platforms, ensuring every message resonates with its intended audience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills that allow you to deliver clear and compelling information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adeptness at building relationships, forging consensus across opposing viewpoints, and navigating executive-level engagement.
  • Excellent project management capabilities and a keen sense of judgment on how to balance competing priorities.
  • Systems thinking that drives you to design processes that streamline workflows and achieve long-term efficiency.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and reporting on ROI/KPIs.
  • Experience working successfully with international teams and navigating cultural differences.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with and/or strong understanding of clean energy, renewables and/or the energy transition
  • Existing knowledge of clean energy markets in North America and Europe
  • Working knowledge of power purchase agreements, RECs/GOs and similar energy products

Responsibilities

  • Build an updated narrative about our market position — who we serve, the problems we solve, how we do it, and why it matters — and then translate it into messaging, visual identity and standards the whole company can use.
  • Work directly with the executive team to shape this story and bring it to market across owned, earned and paid channels.
  • Lead and grow a global marketing team distributed across North America and Europe, along with a six-figure budget and the agency and consultant relationships behind it.
  • Coach and develop the people on this team, shape how the function is organized as we scale, and build the kind of morale that holds up under rapid growth.
  • Keep the team oriented toward commercial outcomes — every program tied to pipeline, revenue or market position — and set the tone for how we work: self-belief, professionalism, a bias for action, and a practice of instigating progress rather than waiting for it.
  • Oversee the launch and scale of new products, establish account-based marketing programs, and sharpen segmentation and positioning across a technical buyer base.
  • Support ongoing demand generation in close partnership with the VP of Sales, and expand the measurement infrastructure behind LevelTen's growth.
  • Working with external consultants, lead your team to establish attribution, reporting and marketing ROI analysis, along with the systems that turn funnel data into actionable insight about our customers.
  • Establish and own the executive communications program for both external and internal audiences.
  • Develop LevelTen's corporate positions on emerging and sensitive industry issues, lead the narrative behind white papers and investor communications, and prepare our executives to deliver it — in the boardroom, on stage and in the press.
  • Lead LevelTen's media relations program across North America and Europe.
  • Stay hands-on with media relations, sometimes working directly with reporters on brand, customer and product storytelling, managing proactive and reactive news cycles, and occasionally serving as a public face of the company.
  • Prepare and brief our spokespeople for high-tier engagements.
  • Shape the future of LevelTen's events program, with an emphasis on securing high-impact speaking opportunities and measuring the ROI of industry conference participation.
  • Ensure we have an organic social media strategy and the policy behind it.
  • Provide strategic direction and editorial oversight to our director of content, who owns LevelTen's content program.
  • Set the editorial standard, shape the market point of view behind our flagship research, and make sure our content serves both category leadership and pipeline.
  • Own the website. Drive a phased refresh across the finish line — then keep going, aligning the site with our evolving brand narrative, refreshing visuals, and optimizing for how buyers search today, including AI-driven and generative search.
  • Own conversion performance, information architecture, and the launch cycle that keeps the site current as new products ship.
