About The Position

The Vice President, Human Resources – North America (NA) is a strategic executive leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the people strategy across the United States and Canada, aligned with global business objectives. This role partners closely with the global executive team and the international headquarters to drive organizational effectiveness, build scalable capabilities, and enable sustainable business growth. This is a critical leadership role that will require a proactive and strategic HR leader with the ability to drive organizational transformation, lead a high-performing HR team, and support a growing sales-driven business. The position is fully on-site.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a senior HR leadership role within the medical devices, healthcare, or a similarly regulated industry is essential.
  • Experience working in a sales-driven environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, transformation, and effectiveness
  • Proven track record of shaping and executing efficiency and optimization programs.
  • Experience building organizational capabilities at scale.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with international HQ leadership to align HR strategies with global standards while ensuring local relevance.
  • Must be comfortable working with senior leaders across different geographies and time zones.
  • Experience in global matrix environments and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking a proactive approach to HR challenges, driving initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and overall business performance.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and develop solutions in advance.
  • Strong experience in leading change management initiatives, driving organizational transformations, and helping teams navigate periods of rapid growth or restructuring.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders.
  • Hands-on experience in managing core HR operations, including employee relations, labor law compliance, compensation, and benefits.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing, managing, and mentoring HR teams.
  • Must be able to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the HR function.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HRIS and other HR technology systems is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the global HR leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide strategy and decision-making.
  • Translate global HR strategies into impactful regional execution plans aligned with North America business priorities.
  • Align HR strategies with Alma Lasers’ business goals to support growth, productivity, and innovation.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the President of North America and the executive leadership team, providing counsel on people-related matters.
  • Act as the key liaison with the global Chief People Officer, ensuring that North America HR practices are aligned with global policies while tailoring initiatives to the local context.
  • Lead organizational design initiatives across North America to ensure alignment with business strategy, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement frameworks to drive organizational effectiveness, agility, and performance.
  • Lead workforce planning and restructuring initiatives to optimize resources and capabilities.
  • Build and strengthen organizational capabilities to meet current and future business needs.
  • Design and deliver leadership development programs and succession planning frameworks.
  • Enhance talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies across the region.
  • Design and implement HR programs focused on operational excellence and efficiency improvements.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure HR impact and organizational performance.
  • Drive process improvements and scalable HR operating models across North America
  • Oversee all aspects of HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.
  • Ensure compliance with North America labor laws, employment regulations, and Alma's internal policies.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Partner effectively with global HR counterparts and corporate headquarters to ensure alignment and integration of HR initiatives.
  • Navigate cross-cultural dynamics and ensure regional alignment with global policies and frameworks.
  • Act as the North America voice in global HR forums.
  • Lead efforts to attract, recruit, and retain top talent in a competitive market, with a special focus on high-performing sales teams.
  • Drive leadership development, succession planning, and employee growth initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Implement a robust onboarding and integration process for new employees that reflects Alma’s commitment to quality and innovation.
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture across the region.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and ensure consistent employee experience aligned with global standards.
  • Foster a culture of performance excellence by designing and executing performance management programs, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback systems.
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives aimed at boosting morale, enhancing collaboration, and reducing turnover.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to managers and leaders, coaching them on leadership, performance, and talent development.
  • Lead HR initiatives that support Alma's organizational transformation, including change management programs that align people with business strategy.
  • Evaluate and implement organizational design strategies that support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with senior leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster a welcoming and diverse workforce.
  • Develop HR programs specifically tailored to support sales teams, including sales incentive programs, training, and performance improvement plans.
  • Work closely with the sales leadership to address people-related challenges, ensuring that HR strategies align with sales objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of four HR professionals, ensuring continuous development, performance excellence, and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR team on employee relations, talent management, and operational matters.
