About The Position

Waste Solution Services (WSS) is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the financial health and operations of the company. WSS specializes in helping multifamily and commercial portfolios optimize their waste spend by auditing invoices, managing contracts, and centralizing billing. The VP of Finance will oversee all finance functions, including AP, AR, Collections, FP&A, and bookkeeping, while providing strategic guidance on budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and pricing. This role is approximately 80% management and 20% hands-on financial work, crucial for supporting the company's growth and decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting
10+ years of relevant experience
5+ years senior management experience
Ability to manage the full finance function with minimal oversight.
Strong understanding of how finance supports company growth and vision.
Proven ability to earn trust through sound judgment, accuracy, and discretion.
Familiar with US GAAP

Nice To Haves

Experience leading finance operations in a growing business.
Strong background in AP, AR, FP&A, bookkeeping, budgeting, and forecasting.
Accrual accounting experience required.
Experience supporting pricing strategy and price increases.
Waste management, multifamily, commercial services, or related industry experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to build trust with leadership and own sensitive financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Oversee all WSS finance functions, including AP, AR, Collections, FP&A, and bookkeeping.
Build and manage a team for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accrual-based accounting.
Lead the company’s budgeting process and support pricing and price increase decisions.
Build clear financial visibility for leadership and ensure accuracy across reporting.
Maintain accountability for finance processes, controls, and deadlines.
Partner with leadership to understand business performance and guide financial strategy.
Translate financial data into actionable insights that support company planning.
Ensure finance operations are organized, reliable, and scalable as WSS grows.
Provide trusted guidance on financial decisions that affect operations and revenue.
Help align finance with the company’s long-term vision and operating priorities.
