About The Position

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building materials company, is seeking a Vice President of Finance. The Vice President of Finance is responsible for managing the company's internal financial operations and financial planning. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day long-term executive strategy, ensuring that a company's financial practices align with its overall business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA required
  • 8+ years of experience in Finance
  • Advanced proficiency with finance and accounting systems and software, including Excel
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and training accounting/finance personnel
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial leaders
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and financial stewardship
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist CFO with oversight of accounting operations and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance processes.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain financial accounting systems & controls to verify the integrity of all processes and data.
  • Assist CFO with oversight of bad debt reserves, write-offs, accruals, and balance sheet management, ensuring financial accuracy and appropriate provisions.
  • Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted and budgeted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
  • Leads and manages the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Manage revenue accounting, including revenue recognition policies and procedures.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Assist CFO with oversight of banking relationships and financing activities.
  • Monitor debt obligations and capital structure.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cash utilization and reduce financial risk.
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal control systems and corporate governance practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop an effective finance team.
  • Establish performance goals and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement in Accounting and Finance.
