About The Position

The Vice President of Enterprise Safety is an executive leader responsible for defining and executing the organization's long-term vision for safety excellence across manufacturing, construction, electrical, technology, automation, and field service operations. This role serves as the company's foremost authority on safety culture, behavioral science, predictive intelligence, organizational risk management, and safety innovation. Rather than focusing solely on regulatory compliance, this executive is responsible for transforming safety into a strategic business advantage by building a proactive, data-driven culture where incidents are anticipated and prevented before they occur. The Vice President will leverage predictive analytics, behavioral psychology, artificial intelligence, operational intelligence, and emerging technologies to continuously improve employee safety, operational reliability, organizational resilience, and business performance. This executive will partner closely with Operations, Human Resources, Innovation, Technology, Manufacturing, Service, and Executive Leadership to embed safety into every strategic decision while strengthening employee engagement, leadership accountability, and organizational culture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Risk Management, or a closely related field is required.

  • A master’s degree in safety, Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHST, ASP, CUSP, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent executive-level safety and operational certifications are highly desirable.

  • Partner with Human Resources to integrate safety culture into hiring, onboarding, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Develop enterprise predictive analytics capabilities that identify risks before incidents occur.
  • Create executive dashboards measuring leading indicators rather than relying primarily on lagging metrics.
  • Utilize: AI-driven analytics, Machine learning models, Near-miss intelligence, Behavioral observations, Environmental data, Wearable technologies, Equipment performance, Workforce trends.
  • Develop predictive risk scoring models for projects, facilities, business units, and field operations.
  • Present predictive intelligence to executive leadership for strategic decision making.
  • Develop a behavioral safety framework grounded in modern organizational psychology.
  • Analyze: Decision-making patterns, Human performance, Cognitive biases, Fatigue indicators, Leadership influence, Employee engagement, Risk tolerance, Habit formation.
  • Design systems that identify behavioral trends before unsafe actions occur.
  • Create enterprise behavioral observation programs focused on coaching rather than enforcement.
  • Partner with leadership development teams to strengthen safety-related leadership behaviors throughout the organization.
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of next-generation safety technologies including: Artificial Intelligence, Computer vision, Drone inspections, Robotics, Wearable monitoring devices, Smart PPE, IoT sensors, Predictive maintenance technologies, Digital twins, Virtual Reality training, Augmented Reality field support.
  • Continuously evaluate global innovations that improve employee protection and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for enterprise safety innovation initiatives.
  • Advise executive leadership regarding enterprise safety risks.
  • Provide quarterly enterprise risk briefings.
  • Establish executive-level accountability measures for safety performance.
  • Develop leadership scorecards measuring: Culture, Employee engagement, Risk reduction, Coaching effectiveness, Leadership presence, Predictive indicators.
  • Coach executive leaders on creating high-performing safety cultures.
  • Partner with operating presidents to develop company-specific safety improvement strategies.
  • Identify strategic organizational risks before they become operational failures.
  • Develop enterprise risk mitigation strategies involving: Operational hazards, Human factors, Organizational behavior, Technology, Supply chain, Construction operations, Manufacturing processes, Electrical hazards, Environmental risks.
  • Integrate safety risk management into enterprise business planning.
  • Establish systems that transform incidents into organizational learning opportunities.
  • Lead enterprise root cause analysis efforts.
  • Develop knowledge-sharing systems across operating companies.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Create executive lessons-learned programs following significant events.
  • Ensure best practices are rapidly replicated across the organization.
  • Develop enterprise KPIs centered on prevention.
  • Lead measurement of: Leading indicators, Predictive indicators, Behavioral metrics, Leadership effectiveness, Safety engagement, Learning velocity, Coaching frequency, Near-miss quality, Corrective action effectiveness.
  • Create executive dashboards enabling proactive intervention.
  • Ensure enterprise compliance with applicable OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Maintain governance systems exceeding minimum regulatory requirements.
  • Develop enterprise auditing methodologies focused on operational improvement rather than inspection alone.
  • Represent the organization before regulatory agencies when necessary.
