About The Position

Haymarket Center seeks a strategic and collaborative Vice President of Development and Communications to plan, organize, and direct all of Haymarket Center's fundraising and external relations including the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, special events, and capital campaigns. The annual fundraising goal is around $2M and growing (with government funding housed under the Operations team). The Vice President of Development and Communications will serve as a key liaison with the Board of Directors as well as with development and external relations consultants. This is an in-person role primarily base at Haymarket Center's Chicago West Loop facility. The Vice President of Development and Communications will serve on Haymarket's dedicated and experienced leadership team and report to the CEO.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of relevant experience including some non-profit or government service
• 3+ years of leadership experience (including successfully supervising a team with direct reports)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Robust fundraising experience including frontline solicitation of major gifts, executing fundraising campaigns, proposal writing, and leading events
• Experience successfully stewarding donor relationships, inspiring them to increase gifts over time
• Experience successfully raising the profile of an organization
• Basic financial acumen (to create, monitor, and adjust fundraising financial projections and budgets)
• Proficiency with fundraising systems (Raiser's Edge is a plus, but not required)
