About The Position

Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana (VOASCLA) is a large and comprehensive human services organization with a faith-based ministry of service, serving approximately 38,000 people annually across a 27-parish area. VOASCLA's programs address critical needs in areas such as children and families, early childhood and childcare, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, senior services, veterans, housing and homelessness, and community-based support. The organization is committed to serving all individuals regardless of background or belief and measures its success by the positive changes in people's lives. VOASCLA is led by a President & Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Leadership Team, and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Office of Advancement and Mission Impact is a strategic initiative to support the organization's growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience across marketing, communications, and fundraising or advancement.
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervising professional staff, with documented responsibility for performance management.
  • Demonstrated record of documented gift closes, including five-figure gifts, and direct participation in six-figure solicitations.
  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns and organizational brand standards.
  • Direct experience administering a donor database or CRM, including data governance and reporting.
  • Experience preparing and managing departmental budgets.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.
  • Nonprofit, human services, behavioral health, or healthcare experience.
  • Multi-site or regional organizational experience; comprehensive campaign experience in an operational or management role.
  • Grant writing and institutional funder relations experience; crisis and issues communications experience.
  • Familiarity with Louisiana's philanthropic, corporate, and faith communities.

Responsibilities

  • Build the evidence base that proves VOASCLA changes lives, and translate it into language donors, funders, and the community understand.
  • Steward the VOASCLA brand and run a coordinated communications program across every channel and region.
  • Own the infrastructure that makes philanthropy repeatable, accurate, and donor centered.
  • Execute the revenue programs that build the base beneath transformational giving.
  • Convert institutional relationships into sustained, well-documented revenue.
  • Build a high-performing Office and keep it connected to the rest of the organization.
