About The Position

This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic fundraising initiatives to support the organization’s mission and financial sustainability. The Vice President of Advancement will work closely with the Grant Manager, Marketing and Community Engagement teams to cultivate donor relationships, secure funding, and promote philanthropic engagement. This role is part of the Executive Leadership Team and contributes to strategic planning and organizational leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated success in major gift solicitation, campaign management, and donor stewardship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in donor management and CRM systems such as Donor Perfect, Bloomerang or Salesforce.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally to support donor engagement and fundraising events.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, organizational leadership, and mission driven decision making.
  • Partner with the President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to establish, implement, and achieve annual philanthropic revenue goals that support the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and long term sustainability.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategies that advance the organization's mission and financial objectives.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, foundation, and community partners to secure philanthropic support and strengthen long term donor relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, including the Community Engagement Committee, to foster community partnerships, enhance donor engagement, and advance fundraising and organizational priorities.
  • Lead and support annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, and other fundraising efforts to meet revenue goals and expand community support.
  • Represent the organization within the community, serving as an ambassador for its mission, programs, and impact while cultivating relationships with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop compelling fundraising materials, donor communications, and multichannel campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and philanthropic support.
  • Collaborate with the Grant Manager to identify funding opportunities and support grant development, reporting, compliance, and stewardship activities.
  • Plan and oversee fundraising events, donor cultivation activities, and community engagement initiatives, including sponsorship development, volunteer involvement, event logistics, and promotional efforts.
  • Monitor fundraising performance, donor trends, and key metrics; evaluate outcomes and recommend strategies to strengthen fundraising effectiveness and donor engagement.
  • Prepare and present fundraising reports, revenue projections, and performance updates for Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure accurate donor recordkeeping and effective use of the donor database (CRM), including gift processing, donor recognition, acknowledgments, and stewardship activities.
  • Foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization by building strong relationships with staff, volunteers, board members, donors, and community partners in support of the organization's mission and impact.
