Our growing and innovative portfolio provides solutions that advance and enhance care. We are looking for a VP of New Product Development. This role will be responsible for the strategic growth and success of the CAS new product pipeline overseeing the definition, development, qualification and release of new CAS products into the market. This is an onsite role based in either our Mounds View, MN, or Galway, Ireland locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences
• Minimum 15+ years of medical device experience or related healthcare industry experience
• Minimum 13+ years leadership experience

• Experience optimizing Electrophysiology (EP) innovation and product development execution through process, metrics and best practice implementation
• Strategic thinker, strong business acumen, thinks broadly, experience partnering with other business and functional leaders to drive portfolio optimization

Responsibilities

• Sets long term NPD direction and aligns decisions to Medtronic’s long-term profitability and growth.
• Serve as a key member of the CAS LT and member of the MDT R&D Council, defining and owning solutions to business challenges and opportunities.
• Drive alignment across the Portfolio and MDT to showcase the full value proposition of the CAS technology ecosystem.
• Deliver on Medtronic Enterprise Excellence Initiatives through the achievement of on-time/on-budget delivery of new products: set and enable NPD business objectives, drive innovation, and accelerate product introduction.
• Accelerate EP acumen within the NPD team to drive speed of integration for Affera Engineering and Software work processes.
• Collaborate across functions, business units, and external experts to advance NPD priorities.
• Understand and apply regulatory standards in the medical device industry, to minimize risk and ensure quality and safety.
• Interact frequently with customers and KOLs in the development of product roadmaps.
• Build and develop an NPD functional organization that drives product Ideation through Market Release for all therapies and product lines in the CAS Operating Unit.
• Invest in talent and capability development and drive a culture of innovation.
• Adoption of DRM, Agile, DevOps, etc to continuously improve development capabilities.
