About The Position

CGI is seeking a commercially minded, strategic and modern Vice-President, Marketing & Communications to serve as the strategic business partner for one of CGI's largest operations, the U.S. Commercial & State Government business. This role is a high-impact senior leadership position that acts as both an advisor and core contributor to strategy, in partnership with business leaders. Marketing and Communications (MarCom) at CGI functions as a business growth enablement tool, focusing on helping the business win, grow, and retain clients through targeted marketing, communications, and market positioning. The team will concentrate investment and effort on areas with the greatest impact, utilizing innovative go-to-market strategies to drive growth, amplify market messages, and support leaders in engaging current and future talent. The successful candidate will blend strategic thinking with execution excellence to support strategic accounts, priority pursuits, and industry/metro market growth initiatives. This role involves leading and developing a high-performing team to create clear, differentiated, and commercially compelling narratives and MarCom strategies for clients, prospects, partners, media, analysts, B2B/B2G influencers, and employees. Collaboration with global MarCom colleagues to modernize capabilities through AI, data-driven decision-making, and integrated work methods is also key. Preferred locations are the Washington, DC metro area or Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the IT services market and at least one of CGI's largest industries.
  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably in a professional services firm or similarly complex B2B or B2G environment.
  • Proven track record of designing and scaling insights-led marketing and communications strategies, particularly account and deal-based marketing.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Competence in managing and optimizing budgets to maximize business impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior MarCom advisor to the Operating Unit President and leadership team.
  • Help shape business strategy with other US CSG Cabinet Leaders through market insight, competitive intelligence, positioning, and communications counsel.
  • Translate business priorities into integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned to growth and differentiation, particularly around account expansion, metro market growth, and deals.
  • Drive measurable contribution to pipeline generation, client engagement, and strategic pursuits.
  • Ensure MarCom is positioned as a strategic growth enabler to the business, with a focus on strategic account growth, priority pursuits, and major deal opportunities.
  • Define and lead a clear, differentiated, and integrated market narrative aligned to CGI's brand.
  • Strengthen CGI's visibility, credibility, and relevance across priority markets and stakeholder groups through creative, highly targeted positioning, thought leadership, and reputation-building initiatives.
  • Lead integrated go-to-market activity spanning campaigns, digital, events, account and deal-based marketing, industry analyst relations, alliance marketing, media, and thought leadership.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, storytelling, and brand experience across channels and touchpoints.
  • Eliminate fragmented or low-value activity in favor of focused, high-impact execution.
  • Lead the Operating Unit's internal and external communications strategy.
  • Oversee executive communications, leadership messaging, and strategic storytelling for senior leaders.
  • Drive proactive media relations, external communications, and reputation management activities.
  • Ensure alignment between external positioning, internal communications, and talent branding.
  • Provide communications leadership during periods of organizational change, market sensitivity, or risk.
  • Ensure communications reflect CGI's values, governance standards, and brand expectations.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to strengthen employee engagement and our culture.
  • Lead internal communications strategies that connect employees to CGI's strategy and priorities.
  • Drive talent branding and marketing in collaboration with HR and business leaders, in line with recruitment strategies and priorities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, innovative, and outcome-driven MarCom organization.
  • Proactively collaborate with global MarCom colleagues to maximize capacity and tap into expertise.
  • Ensure the secure, compliant, and ethical use of AI MarCom technologies in line with CGI policies.
  • Manage and maximize the budget to ensure every dollar invested has an appropriate business return.
