About The Position

Syndax Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Vice President, Market Access to lead the development and execution of comprehensive market access strategies across the Company's hematology-oncology portfolio. This individual will be responsible for optimizing patient access, reimbursement, and value realization for Syndax's commercial products while supporting lifecycle management and future indication expansion opportunities for inline and pipeline assets. As a member of the Commercial Leadership Team, this leader will develop and execute integrated access strategies spanning payer marketing, pricing and contracting, reimbursement, account management, patient support services, and trade and distribution. The successful candidate will work closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Clinical Development leadership to ensure market access considerations are fully integrated into franchise and corporate strategies in the US and ex US regions of interest. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the VP, Market Access will bring a combination of strategic leadership, executional excellence, knowledge of the impact of the government on price realization and deep oncology market access expertise to maximize patient access and support long-term franchise growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience within market access, payer strategy, reimbursement, account management, or related commercial functions.
  • Significant oncology experience required
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing market access strategies for specialty pharmaceutical products.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payer systems, reimbursement pathways, specialty pharmacy networks, trade and distribution models, and healthcare economics.
  • Experience supporting successful oncology product launches and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pricing, contracting, gross-to-net management, and payer negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of health economics, outcomes research, value proposition development, and evidence-generation principles, with demonstrated success partnering effectively with HEOR and Medical Affairs teams.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, MPH, PharmD, or advanced degree preferred.
  • hematology and rare disease experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Commercial Leadership Team and contribute to the development and execution of Syndax's overall commercial strategy.
  • Develop and execute U.S. market access strategies for Syndax's commercial portfolio, including payer, provider, specialty pharmacy, and distribution channel strategies.
  • Lead all market access functions, including payer marketing, account management, reimbursement strategy, patient services, pricing and contracting, and trade and distribution.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to ensure robust evidence-generation strategies, health economic analyses, and real-world evidence plans support coverage, reimbursement, and access objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with national and regional payers, IDNs, specialty pharmacies, PBMs, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership to align market access strategies with brand objectives, demand generation initiatives, and lifecycle management plans.
  • Lead pricing, contracting, and gross-to-net strategy development in partnership with Finance and Commercial leadership.
  • Evaluate evolving healthcare policy, reimbursement environments, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner closely with Medical Affairs, including HEOR leadership, and Clinical Development to ensure evidence-generation activities support payer requirements, reimbursement objectives, and long-term access strategies.
  • Lead market access planning and readiness activities for new indications, label expansions, future pipeline assets and ex US launch strategy.
  • Awareness and implications of government policy on US and ex US brand value creation
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing market access organization.
  • Represent market access perspectives within governance forums, asset strategy teams, and executive leadership discussions.
