About The Position

The Vice President, US Market Access, Emerging Landscape lead will report directly to the Senior Vice President, US Market Access & Pfizer Patient Services (USMAPPS), and serve as a member of the USMAPPS Leadership Team. This role will provide U.S. Market Access leadership on how external forces reshaping access — including 340B, medical benefit dynamics, PBM reform, and shifts in government policy — translate into market access strategy and organizational readiness. The successful candidate will translate these complex and evolving dynamics into a clear USMAPPS point of view, coordinated response strategy, and practical actions that help the organization stay ahead of change. In parallel, this leader will build and embed new organizational capabilities across USMAPPS, including AI-enabled workflows, decision-support tools, and new ways of working. The role requires a strategic, externally oriented leader who can form a strong point of view, influence across a matrixed organization, and ensure new capabilities are adopted in practice—not just developed as standalone initiatives.

Requirements

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 15+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, market access, policy, payer/reimbursement, patient services, or a related commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare policy and market access landscape, including IRA, 340B, PBM reform, medical benefit dynamics, and payer channel trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous external developments into clear strategic implications, executive recommendations, and action plans.
  • Experience building, scaling, or leading a new function, capability, center of excellence, or enterprise-wide workstream.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and driving alignment across a large, matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with AI, digital tools, workflow automation, or decision-support capabilities in a commercial, healthcare, or market access context.
  • Strong communication, executive presence, and judgment, with the ability to represent USMAPPS credibly on fast-moving and high-impact external issues.
  • Previous people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, advanced degree, or equivalent experience in healthcare, business, public policy, or a related field.
  • Prior experience partnering with government affairs or policy functions, with a background in 340B, payer strategy, channel strategy, or market access leadership.
  • Experience partnering with data science, digital, AI, or technology teams to translate new tools into practical business adoption.
  • Track record of building organizational capabilities from the ground up and driving adoption across a large, matrixed enterprise.
  • Ability to operate with both strategic altitude and execution discipline in a complex, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner for the USMAPPS point of view and response strategy on how medical benefit dynamics, 340B, PBM reform, government policy developments, and other emerging issues affect market access.
  • Establish centers of excellence for priority capability areas, with clear accountabilities, decision rights, and operating models that connect to USMAPPS functions and business units.
  • Continuously monitor the external environment and translate trends into actionable insights, implications, and recommendations for USMAPPS leadership.
  • Lead the market access response to PBM Reform, partnering closely with Policy & Government Relations and other enterprise stakeholders to ensure USMAPPS strategy reflects and anticipates government policy developments.
  • Create a coordinated USMAPPS posture on emerging issues, helping the organization move proactively and consistently rather than reacting function by function.
  • Lead the AI integration and enablement roadmap across USMAPPS workflows, decision-support tools, and priority business processes in partnership with the AI and Enabling Workflows teams.
  • Identify, prioritize, and sequence high-value AI use cases across enabling capabilities, patient services, and customer engagement functions.
  • Build business cases and implementation plans for AI-enabled workflow improvements, partnering with Business Operations and functional leaders to ensure feasibility, adoption, and measurable impact.
  • Assess where new skills, tools, governance, or ways of working are needed across USMAPPS to keep pace with the changing external environment.
  • Lead the design, build, and adoption of new capabilities so they are embedded into core workflows, decision-making forums, and business routines.
  • Partner with functional leaders and business units to ensure emerging capabilities are practical, scalable, and aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Operations where capability building, workflow design, and execution responsibilities intersect.
  • Build, lead, and develop the Emerging Landscape team, including capability owners accountable for priority external issue areas and organizational enablement workstreams.
  • Coach team members to operate as strategic owners who shape recommendations, influence decisions, and drive adoption—not simply monitor or report on external developments.
  • Serve as a core member of the USMAPPS Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise strategy, leadership alignment, and cross-functional execution.
  • Model Pfizer values and leader behaviors, with a focus on accountability, collaboration, enterprise thinking, and disciplined execution.
