The Vice President of Human Resources serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping and advancing a comprehensive human capital strategy aligned with the hospital’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This individual is responsible for providing executive-level oversight of all human resources functions, ensuring that Silver Cross attracts, develops, and retains a highly skilled and engaged workforce capable of delivering exceptional patient care. In close partnership with the President and Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team, the Vice President will lead enterprise workforce planning efforts, ensuring the organization has the appropriate talent, structure, and capabilities to support current operations and future growth. This includes developing strategies to address workforce challenges, enhancing recruitment and retention efforts, and building sustainable talent pipelines for critical roles across the organization. The Vice President is also responsible for providing strategic oversight of total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and recognition, ensuring they remain competitive, equitable, and responsive to the evolving needs of the workforce. In addition, the role oversees the ongoing development of leadership and professional development programs, supporting succession planning and building strong leadership capabilities across all levels of the organization. Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Human Resources serves as a trusted advisor on all workforce and organizational matters and is an active contributor to executive-level decision-making. The role will lead a team of HR professionals across key functional areas, including talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations, employee heath, organizational development, and HR operations, ensuring alignment and effectiveness across the entire HR function.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years’ experience in progressive human resources leadership, preferably within a healthcare or similarly complex environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable initiatives.
  • Strong collaborator who can build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Leader who demonstrates integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Seasoned healthcare HR executive with 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise across talent strategy, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Proven ability to align HR strategy with business goals and drive measurable operational and engagement outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of healthcare operations, financial drivers, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading culture transformation, change management, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and the Board on human capital strategy and succession planning.
  • Skilled in building relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Advanced degree required (MBA, MHA, or related) and HR certifications preferred.
