Vice President, Global Product Platforms & Innovation

Marmon Holdings, Inc.Atlanta, GA
$233,200 - $349,800Hybrid

About The Position

Marmon Foodservice Technologies (MFT) is building a new global product platform organization to lead the change in how people eat and drink. As part of Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, MFT has the capital and long-term vision to build for the future. Historically, MFT has succeeded through local customer intimacy and execution, but future growth requires a different approach: a small set of global product platforms designed once and reused everywhere. This role is critical to establishing this new capability, moving from a history of regional platform efforts to a unified global strategy. The Vice President will own MFT’s most important platforms end-to-end, including strategy, roadmap, architecture, technical execution, lifecycle, and economics, with the exception of manufacturing which remains with regional plants. The goal is to build a function that endures, making MFT’s priority platforms the technical and economic engine of the business, enabling regional teams to win local customers faster, and establishing a repeatable process for inventing future platforms.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of senior product, platform, or core-technology leadership in a global organization.
  • Full lifecycle accountability for at least one platform from concept through commercialization and sustaining.
  • Documented results across regions (adoption, time to market, cost or margin, or quality and reliability).
  • Experience operating where a global team owns the platform core and regional teams own localization, launch, manufacturing, and customer execution.
  • Technical depth in electromechanical, engineered product, or equipment platforms.
  • Strong grasp of platform economics and the ability to make and defend reinvestment cases at the enterprise level.
  • Track record of building a function or operating model from an early state to a delivering state, not only running an established one.
  • Experience hiring and developing senior platform or product leaders as direct reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Building a system that endures past them.
  • Establishing a repeatable way to invent the next platform after the initial three.
  • Ensuring the operating model holds up when the role eventually moves on.
  • Developing Platform Leaders who can run their platforms without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global roadmap for MFT’s priority platforms across a three-to-five-year horizon.
  • Decide what is core and reusable versus what is locally adapted, and maintain that boundary.
  • Set architecture guardrails that protect scalability, quality, and long-term integrity.
  • Sequence investment across the three platforms based on customer demand, technical readiness, and enterprise value.
  • Identify and select talent, assemble teams, and appoint Platform Leaders as direct reports.
  • Each Platform Leader will own one platform end-to-end with a dedicated technical team executing the roadmap, managing lifecycle, and developing go-to-market enablement through Voice-of-Customer work.
  • Run platform-to-region as a service contract, ensuring regions can rely on platform team shipments and the platform team is held to its commitments.
  • Establish a clean handoff to regional manufacturing, providing designs, specifications, and validated configurations.
  • Make architecture calls and develop platforms with a lifecycle mindset, considering manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and future upgrades.
  • Build quality and reliability into platforms from the start.
  • Own the economic view of each platform and partner with Group Finance to make platform economics visible at the enterprise level.
  • Bring regional and customer input into platform strategy through defined channels while maintaining enterprise discipline.
  • Build credibility by shipping platforms that regional teams can commercialize, support, and scale.
