About The Position

Join the Chief Investment Office (CIO) Finance that sits within the CFO organization and supports the CIO in managing the Firm’s structural balance sheet risks across markets and currencies. As a Vice President on the CIO team, you will be responsible for financial oversight and senior-ready analytics for a large, complex fixed income and derivatives portfolio spanning rates hedging, mortgage portfolios, and credit/structured positions. The role blends market and risk intuition with strong controllership, providing exposure to portfolio managers and senior finance leadership and the opportunity to modernize analytics through automation, visualization, and emerging AI/LLM-enabled workflows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance/Risk/product control, market/rates analytics, risk analytics, forecasting/attribution within a regulated financial institution.
  • Strong fixed income and derivatives intuition, ideally across rates hedging, mortgages (e.g., MBS), and credit/structured products; understanding of PV/yield/rates/duration/convexity and how market moves flow through NII/OCI/P&L.
  • Strong analytical skillset and experience with visualization, data, automation tools (e.g., Databricks; Tableau; Python)
  • Demonstrated stakeholder leadership and clear communication; ability to influence across functions, manage expectations, and deliver end-to-end outcomes through others.
  • Strong foundation in financial accounting and controls, with demonstrated ability to explain balance sheet and P&L drivers under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Translate markets and risk into financial outcomes: analyze the impact of rates and curve dynamics, spreads/credit conditions, volatility, hedging strategy, and positioning on NII, OCI, and P&L; articulate sensitivities and “what-if” scenarios.
  • Lead forecast Balance Sheet and P&L portfolio analytics: develop driver-based frameworks, early-warning indicators, and scenario/sensitivity analysis to improve predictability and reduce surprises.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials and present insights to senior stakeholders within the CFO organization, including concise narratives, key risks/opportunities, and anticipated questions.
  • Partner across the franchise (Portfolio Managers, Market Risk, Middle Office, Financial Control, Technology, Strategy, Liquidity) to improve data quality, resolve breaks, and deliver scalable solutions across reporting, controls, and analytics.
  • Build modern analytics capabilities: standardize and automate recurring processes using SQL/Python and tools such as Tableau, Databricks, and Alteryx; apply AI/LLM techniques where appropriate to increase productivity and insight generation.
  • Own financial oversight, controls, and earnings readiness for CIO portfolios, including P&L attribution, balance sheet integrity, and variance explanation; escalate issues with quantified impact, options, and clear governance.
  • Lead and develop a small team.
