About The Position

The Vice President of Finance serves as the senior finance leader responsible for enterprise financial planning, strategic finance, performance management, capital allocation, corporate governance, and executive decision support for Related Ross. This executive partners closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategy, optimize capital deployment, drive operational performance, and support the continued growth of the platform. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, executive reporting, financial modeling, corporate policies, and finance team leadership while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 12–15+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment analysis, real estate finance, or strategic finance.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience managing finance teams and partnering with executive leadership.
  • Significant experience within commercial real estate/real estate development,
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, liquidity management, and executive reporting.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate development, project finance, capital structures, debt financing, investment underwriting, and portfolio performance measurement.
  • Experience supporting debt financings, lender relationships, covenant compliance, refinancing transactions, and capital markets activities.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • High degree of integrity, executive presence, and ability to manage multiple strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with CFO to lead all corporate financial planning activities for Related Ross.
  • Develop annual operating budgets, multi-year business plans, and long-range strategic forecasts.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, acquisitions, dispositions, capital investments, and business opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor by providing meaningful analysis, recommendations, and decision support.
  • Develop financial strategies that maximize profitability, liquidity, and long-term value.
  • Lead preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and five-year strategic plans.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate business performance, operational initiatives, and investment decisions.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including budget-to-actual variance analysis, KPI reporting, cash flow forecasts, and executive dashboards.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities while recommending strategies to improve operating performance and cash flow.
  • Lead preparation of executive presentations for senior management and ownership.
  • Prepare capital deployment analyses across development projects, acquisitions, operating assets, and corporate initiatives for CFO and executive review.
  • Develop scenario analyses to support strategic capital allocation decisions.
  • Analyze investment opportunities, capital structures, financing alternatives, and expected returns, and summarize findings for leadership.
  • Assess liquidity impacts of proposed capital deployment and flag considerations for CFO review.
  • Support due diligence and financial analysis for acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, recapitalizations, and other corporate transactions.
  • Oversee platform-wide cash flow forecasting across development, operations, and corporate entities.
  • Monitor liquidity requirements and working capital needs.
  • Collaborate with Development, Operations, Accounting, and Treasury to improve forecasting accuracy and capital planning.
  • Analyze financing needs and support debt management and refinancing initiatives.
  • Lead financial analysis for strategic initiatives, acquisitions, dispositions, and corporate transactions.
  • Develop sensitivity analyses around capital structures, financing alternatives, and market conditions.
  • Partner with Development and Asset Management to assess financial risks and opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations supporting long-term strategic planning and value creation.
  • Perform complex ad hoc analyses influencing executive decision-making.
  • Support debt financings, refinancings, recapitalizations, and capital markets initiatives.
  • Coordinate lender and investor reporting packages.
  • Monitor debt covenant compliance and financing obligations.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and their impact on liquidity and leverage.
  • Assist with lender presentations, financing packages, investor reporting, and capital markets activities.
  • Oversee governance of management fees, development fees, overhead allocations, guarantees, and intercompany transactions.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for reporting, forecasting, and business processes.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial analyses and presentation materials supporting executive leadership, Board meetings, and Investment Committee discussions.
  • Develop supporting materials for strategic initiatives, capital allocation decisions, financing activities, and long-range planning, for CFO and executive review.
  • Compile and organize financial results, risk analysis, and recommendations for CFO presentation to ownership and the Board.
  • Support the CFO in delivering executive reporting that informs decision-making.
  • Partner with Development, Investments, Accounting, Asset Management, Treasury, HR, Legal, and Operations.
  • Drive alignment between operational and financial objectives.
  • Lead enhancements to financial reporting systems, planning tools, business intelligence, automation, and AI-enabled financial analysis.
  • Improve reporting efficiency and data quality.
  • Support implementation of new financial systems and technology initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor the FP&A and corporate finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable financial processes supporting continued platform growth.
