About The Position

This position serves as the senior financial executive for the Atlanta region of Empire Homes, supporting the business segments of land development and home building in Atlanta & Chattanooga. Responsible for execution of strategy for all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. Manages the accounting operations establishing and maintaining accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls for the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required.
  • 8+ years of Finance/Accounting experience at a leadership level within a multi-divisional matrix organization within a public or private homebuilder required.
  • Senior Management experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency with finance and accounting systems and software

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting in the homebuilding/construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational & financial reporting improvement efforts; develop and maintain operational & financial dashboards; establish process for evaluating and acting on homebuilding & development cost variances in close collaboration with the Purchasing, Homebuilding and Development teams.
  • Apply experience with underwriting and financial evaluation of undeveloped tracts as well as finished lot deals; assemble financial land packages for approval to corporate office; establish tracking process and reporting of developed lot cost variances.
