About The Position

The VP, Enterprise Technology Strategy leads the Portfolio & Agile Delivery and Solution Management functions within ETSE, enabling the Compass enterprise technology strategy, portfolio governance, business and solution architecture for Compass Group North America. Reporting directly to the ETSE EVP, this leader partners with Corporate Strategy and Technology Product Delivery across enterprise functions in accounting, finance, HR, payroll, sales, and beyond to translate priorities into coherent technology investments and capability-building programs. The role will build and lead a team of approximately 10 solution architects, business architects, designers, and coaches accountable for strategic direction and delivery outcomes. As a senior thought leader, the VP shapes how Compass Group adopts enterprise and emerging technologies to drive operational efficiency and competitive differentiation.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership, including direct experience leading technology strategy, architecture or technology product functions.
  • Demonstrated success setting and executing enterprise technology strategy within large, complex organizations (multi-billion revenue preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of modern architecture patterns — cloud, API-led integration, microservices — alongside emerging AI/ML and agentic system design.
  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across business and technology.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary technology teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors, Infor WFM.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in foodservice, hospitality, or multi-site operations technology.
  • Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) at the portfolio or program level.
  • TOGAF, AWS/Azure solutions architect, or equivalent architecture certification.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and own portfolio governance: manage the Enterprise technology investment pipeline, facilitate project and epic prioritization, and ensure cross-domain roadmap coherence.
  • Define and maintain the multi-year Enterprise Technology Strategy, aligning it with Compass Group business objectives and evolving market conditions.
  • Partner with leaders across technology and corporate departments in accounting, finance, HR, payroll, sales, and beyond to align technology capability roadmaps with enterprise goals.
  • Lead a solution architecture team to set standards across all ETSE domains, ensuring reusable, scalable, and secure design patterns. Set strategic direction on web, mobile, agentic platforms.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of architects, analysts, agile practitioners, and designers.
  • Represent ETSE in executive forums, steering committees, and vendor relationships; drive organizational change through influence and collaboration.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for technology delivery, portfolio health, and enterprise architecture maturity.
  • Develop and execute an AI and agentic technology strategy, identifying high-value use cases and establishing frameworks for responsible adoption.
