About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Database Engineering in Alpharetta, GA to research, develop, document, communicate, and drive implementation of standards on the storage, movement, and management of data across the enterprise. Deliver Fraud Operation data engineering and machine learning projects while coordinating with teams both onshore and offshore. Architect, design, and develop reusable frameworks, and deploy them into cloud solutions. Work on proof-of-concepts to adapt new technologies and cloud services. Design, build, and implement databases, Exact, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, and Master data management (MDM) solutions. Promote and leverage enterprise functions such as infrastructure, production support, and analytics. Act as the subject-matter expertise for data management and modeling challengers. Create and review data utilized in system interfaces. Evaluate and implement tools and strategies for databases, ETL, MDM, and reporting and analytics.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an IT Operations Support Manager; Architect; Senior Data Engineer; Software Developer; or related occupation in the technology field.
  • The employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience as an IT Operations Support Manager; Architect; Senior Data Engineer; Software Developer; or related occupation in the technology field in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with: Oracle; Sybase SQL Server; IBM Infosphere DataStage; Data Architecture; Performance Tuning; Real-time transaction processing; Windows and Linux; PowerShell scripting; Bitbucket; Tableau; Apache Impala; Apache Hive;
  • Requires two (2) years of experience with: Snowflake; AWS Data Analytics; Patching; Cloud technology including AWS EC2; Parquet; Continuous Integration (CI/CD) tools; Cloudera.
