About The Position

The VP, Data & Analytics Products role leads the organization's data products function. This role will define and execute the strategy for transforming ECRI's unparalleled proprietary healthcare safety data into scalable commercial products and intelligence services. The role will serve as both a strategic architect and an organizational builder — standing up a high-performing team, forging the governance structures that connect the new function to existing technical teams, and personally driving the first generation of commercial data products to market. This role requires a leader who is bilingual: technically credible enough to earn the trust of data scientists and engineers, and commercially savvy enough to translate data assets into products that healthcare organizations will purchase. The position will have a seat at ECRI's leadership table and serve as the internal champion for data as a strategic and revenue-generating asset.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or technology, with at least 4 years in a product leadership or P&L-accountable role.
  • Demonstrated experience building and commercializing data products — preferably in healthcare, health IT, or life sciences.
  • Strong product instinct: ability to identify what the market will pay for, not just what the data can support.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing matrixed organizational relationships.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards, privacy regulations (HIPAA), and clinical terminology.
  • Executive-level communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite, boards, and external partners.
  • Experience in a mission-driven or nonprofit healthcare organization.
  • Background in or deep familiarity with patient safety, quality improvement, or clinical informatics.
  • Experience with SaaS, licensing, or subscription-based data product models.
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own ECRI's data products strategy, including a multi-year roadmap for commercial data products aligned to the organization's patient safety mission.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for all data commercialization initiatives, including pricing strategy, partnership models, and go-to-market planning.
  • Build and lead a lean, high-performing team of product managers, data scientists, and a visualization designer.
  • Resolve the organizational design of matrixed data engineering and MDM resources, establishing formal governance through the Data Products Council.
  • Present to the CEO, Board, and external stakeholders on data products strategy and commercial performance.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle for data products — from discovery and definition through build, launch, and iteration.
  • Identify and prioritize the highest-value commercial opportunities within ECRI's data assets, including benchmarks, predictive models, surveillance tools, and intelligence subscriptions.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Legal to bring data products to market, including licensing structure, pricing, and customer success.
  • Build the frameworks and standards that ensure commercial products maintain ECRI's standards for data integrity, privacy, and independent authority.
  • Establish data governance policies that support commercial use cases, including de-identification standards, access controls, and provenance tracking.
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure the data infrastructure can support scalable, reliable product delivery.
  • Work with MDM to ensure master data quality and ontological consistency underpin all commercial products.
  • Other duties, as assigned
