Requirements

  • A security professional who can provide expert contributions to the strategic alignment and operational effectiveness of the Business Management function within CLS's IT Security Function, ensuring its contribution to overall security strategy.
  • Execute initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT Security business operations. For example, supporting budgeting processes, employee development frameworks, and procurement activities within the IT Security Function.
  • Identify and address key operational priorities within Business Management to strengthen the function's contribution, by focusing efforts on tailoring work and programs for CLS specific needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across CLS. For example, supporting the engagement with finance, procurement, and other IT Security teams to ensure effective resource allocation, performance tracking, and operational alignment.
  • Experience in business management, operations, or program management (6-8 years), including ~4-5 years in a specialist role within a cyber security or technology function.
  • Experience in operating within highly regulated environments, ensuring adherence to operational and compliance standards.
  • Experience in reporting on project progress and technical insights to senior management.
  • Experience in supporting and participating in governance working groups or providing input to governance forums.
  • Understand, interpret and apply regulatory requirements, compliance and industry standards as pertains to Business Management for Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Support workforce development initiatives, ensuring effective frameworks are in place to support individual employee development, and align performance with critical security objectives and CLS goals.
  • Address cybersecurity-related enquiries and requests from business units, providing advisory support and communicating security risk within the wider business context to support strategic engagement.
  • Foster effective collaboration between the IT Security function and business stakeholders, for example, Informing business units of relevant security requirements, changes to requirements (e.g., updated Policy), and relevant activity in Security.
  • Facilitate cross-functional cybersecurity collaboration between business units and wider Security during business-as-usual security management as well as non-BAU events (e.g., projects, incident management).
  • Work closely with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (oCIO) to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence in IT Security, for example, Development of procurement plans for cybersecurity tools and services, establishing clear criteria for vendor selection and secure onboarding.
  • Cybersecurity capacity and budget planning, including optimizing staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation (e.g., budget and future workforce, expense tracking, talent acquisition and retention etc.).
  • Support the comprehensive engagement and reporting for cybersecurity governance, for example, Coordination of forum logistics, agenda preparation, and governance and reporting material development.
  • Serving as the secretariat capability for IT Security governance fora, facilitating discussions and documenting decisions, actions and escalations.
  • Coordinate the development of materials to be used as IT Security inputs into broader, organization-wide governance forums and reporting structures (e.g., materials to be reported to Board_.
