Cultivates and manages the company’s relationships with the media and influencer communities, identifying opportunities for paid and earned coverage and ensuring rapid, strategic response to emerging news and trends. Monitors and analyzes media coverage to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities for increased visibility, and adjust strategies to maximize impact. Collaborates with executives to craft compelling narratives that reinforce the company's position as an industry leader and trusted voice. Drives storytelling initiatives that highlight the company's contributions to the communities and people it serves, including its economic impact and role in workforce opportunity creation. Organizes and manages strategic internal and external events in partnership with executive and product leadership, including salon dinners, conference-associated events, and thought leadership forums. Develops compelling narratives and positioning frameworks, ensuring all communications reinforce the company's image, identity, and strategic priorities. Develops and leads day-to-day implementation of communications projects and campaigns with a focus on problem-solving, quality delivery, relationship management, and client satisfaction. Guides these projects through well-defined communications plans and goals, managing projects against established benchmarks. Serves as steward of the Modivcare brand, overseeing development of corporate logos, trademarked and copyrighted content, visual identity, and content look and feel. Leads the development and execution of an integrated thought leadership plan, leveraging executive voices to enhance the company's share of voice, articulate the company's story, engage in public discourse, influence policy, and elevate the company's authority as a thought leader. Oversees development and production of speeches, talking points, presentations, and executive communications for the CEO, Board, and senior leadership, ensuring consistent, impactful messaging that aligns with the company's strategic priorities and thought leadership objectives. Identifies and prepares executive stakeholders for high-profile speaking engagements, media appearances, and industry events. Oversees the continued development and execution of best practices in communications infrastructure, including programs, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness, accountability, and sustainability. Maintains a deep understanding of industry trends, issues, and news involving relevant clients and stakeholders to effectively identify and deliver strong, creative communications recommendations. Capitalizes on and contributes to opportunities to grow existing and new stakeholder relationships. Leads crisis communication planning and execution in partnership with legal, compliance, operations, and executive teams, ensuring the company's reputation is protected and its position is clearly communicated during high-stakes situations. Provides internal communications support, including all-employee town halls, internal communications programs, employee activation programs, and employee newsletters. Collaborates with the CCAO and Vice President of Public and Government Affairs to ensure communication strategies support their objectives and drive measurable engagement. Establishes core communication metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies, media relations, and storytelling initiatives. Develops and maintains dashboards and regular reporting processes to track performance, share insights with leadership, and inform decision-making. Directs the activities of external agencies and consultants assisting the company in developing and implementing communication strategies. Oversees day-to-day activities of the communications function, including budgeting, planning, and staff development. Demonstrates advanced writing skills and supervises the writing of others across a broad range of owned and earned media and content channels. Collaborates with product marketing team leaders to develop campaigns and initiatives that advance the company's strategic goals. Determines appropriate resourcing of staff in order to achieve goals and objectives. Builds an effective senior leadership team through mentoring and formal education that focuses on management and project management principles. Defines annual Key Performance Indicators aligned with corporate goals. Directs and mentors senior leaders on performance gaps, career development opportunities, and strategies. Directs and coaches senior leaders on all human resource related processes including onboarding, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, selection, terminations, compensation and rewards. Accountable for strategic design, execution, and collective results along with others’ successful contributions. Owns attainment of high employee satisfaction and retention; lead development of program and initiatives within group to attain high employee satisfaction. Directs and influences change management initiatives to drive improvements and efficiencies cross-functionally. Ability to direct and interact collaboratively and communicate effectively with external, internal customers, and stakeholders to address issues and ensure alignment across the organization to drive customer success. Prepares and manages budget as assigned; analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions to maximize operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred or similar in a health-related field preferred.
  • Fifteen (15) plus years experience of relevant work experience in public relations and/or related fields.
  • Significant experience leading high-performing communications and/or public affairs teams.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring remote teams of skilled professionals
  • Experience with health, human services, and long-term care policy and issues, including the Medicare and Medicaid programs and state regulatory environments affecting non-emergency medical transportation, personal care, virtual care, and home monitoring.
  • Ten (10) plus years leadership responsibility leading teams.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Strong project management and judgment skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects under deadline with limited supervision.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate internally and across external partners and clients with a high level of professionalism.
  • A solid understanding of the current healthcare landscape and the relevant issues impacting organizations and businesses active in the health space.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage up, delegate, and edit the work of others.
