About The Position

The Vice President, Consulting holds a fiduciary responsibility to the firm, encompassing professional conduct, execution of duties, handling of confidential information, and discretion in all communications. This role involves functioning in various capacities such as Account Manager, Project Leader, and Project Support on consulting engagements to meet client needs, fulfill contract terms, and ensure timely invoicing and payments. The position requires facilitating problem-solving, assuring on-time project completion within scope, and achieving high client satisfaction. It also involves reinforcing the identification of up-sell opportunities for the Sales team, participating in strategy meetings, developing and implementing strategic initiatives for the Consulting division, and undertaking special assignments as directed by management. A key responsibility is developing standard processes and ensuring compliance with internally approved standards of practice for consulting documentation and deliverables, working collaboratively with the Senior Vice President of Consulting to measure standards and outcomes. The role includes participating in Corazon’s promotional activities, speaking engagements, professional societies, and community meetings, as well as providing articles for publication. The Vice President acts as a Subject Matter Expert for specific service lines, staying abreast of treatment advances and innovations, and maintaining current knowledge in heart, vascular, neuroscience, musculoskeletal, and Surgical Services/ASC service lines, including hospital-physician partnering models. They will work with healthcare industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and technological advancements, collaborating with the Sr. Vice President on sales prospect identification and new business development. The role may involve reviewing proposals and delivering sales presentations upon request. Building and nurturing strong client relationships, including post-project engagement, is crucial for identifying new business opportunities. The Vice President also provides input to HR and the leadership team for hiring, conducts performance appraisals for direct reports, and contributes to team member evaluations. Proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement of work products, processes, and client offerings is expected. Additionally, the role involves providing oversight and mentorship for new hires, acting as a mentor and resource to other Corazon staff, and maintaining an accurate consulting delivery model. Collaboration with IT staff to develop CUBE as a project management support tool is also a responsibility. Performs additional duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Progressive healthcare management experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team to the most effective level.
  • Demonstrated credibility in managing service lines with a keen understanding of the business implications.
  • Three years of successful consulting experience in a project leadership role preferred, with the ability to facilitate change, influence people, and effectively listen and communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Functions in roles of Account Manager, Project Leader, and/or Project Support on consulting engagements as needed to ensure client needs are met, the terms of the engagement are fulfilled, and invoicing and payments are processed according to the contract terms; facilitates problem-solving that may arise with a client.
  • Assures that the team is working to achieve on-time completion, works within the project scope, and achieves high client satisfaction rates.
  • Reinforces identification of up-sell opportunities to be passed to the Sales team.
  • Engaged, when requested, for participation in area-specific strategy meetings, the development and implementation of the strategic plan initiatives related to the Consulting division, and special assignments as directed by management.
  • Responsible for developing standard processes and compliance with internally approved standards of practice for consulting documentation and deliverables.
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Vice President of Consulting in measuring standards and compliance/outcomes.
  • Participates in Corazon’s promotional activities, speaking engagements, professional societies, and meetings with the business/healthcare community.
  • Provides articles for publication in journals and news articles.
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for particular service lines of responsibility and awareness of treatment advances/innovation in the service line.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills in the areas of consulting within the heart, vascular, neuroscience, musculoskeletal, and Surgical Services/ASC service lines, including hospital-physician partnering/alignment models.
  • Works with contacts in the healthcare industry to identify new business opportunities and technology advances in the field.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Vice President to identify and approach sales prospects and other new business development opportunities.
  • Upon request, will work with the sales team to review proposals and deliver sales presentations.
  • Builds and nurtures strong relationships with clients, including ongoing connection post-project completion to identify new business opportunities within the organization.
  • Provides input to HR and the leadership team related to hiring and selecting candidates for open positions.
  • Conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and contributes to the evaluations of all team members.
  • Works proactively to identify opportunities for enhancement of work product/processes/client offerings that are the responsibility of the delivery team.
  • Provides oversight and mentorship for the orientation of new hires to the consulting team.
  • Acts as mentor and resource to other Corazon staff and provides feedback to promote their continued development.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date consulting delivery model.
  • Works with IT staff to develop CUBE as a project management support tool that allows for real-time reporting on delivery outcomes.
  • Performs additional duties as requested by management
