About The Position

The Vice President, Client Engagement – Global Regulatory is a senior commercial leader responsible for sourcing, shaping, and owning high-value regulatory consulting opportunities across the global life sciences market, with significant focus on the US, Europe, MENA, and Japan. This role identifies emerging client needs, develops commercially compelling regulatory solutions in partnership with Global Regulatory Practice leadership or their designees, and leads opportunities from early market engagement through qualification, solution design, proposal strategy, and close. The VP serves as a market-facing representative of ELIQUENT and the Global Regulatory Practice, building visibility through client conversations, industry events, conferences, and thought leadership. The role may also include management responsibility for junior Client Engagement team members. It requires strong commercial judgment, executive presence, global regulatory market knowledge, and the ability to translate regional market signals into actionable growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 12 - 15+ years of experience in regulatory consulting, business development, commercial leadership, client services, or market-facing life sciences roles, with meaningful exposure to global regulatory services.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing, shaping, owning, and closing complex regulatory consulting or professional services opportunities.
  • Experience translating regulatory client challenges into differentiated solution strategies, scopes, proposals, and commercial recommendations.
  • Experience engaging senior client stakeholders and representing an organization in external market settings, industry forums, or regulatory-focused events.
  • Familiarity with regulatory market dynamics across the US, Europe, MENA, and Japan, including regional client needs and agency expectations.
  • Strong commercial instincts and ability to identify, qualify, shape, and close high-value regulatory consulting opportunities.
  • Executive presence and credibility with senior client stakeholders, industry leaders, internal leadership, and regulatory experts.
  • Ability to design commercially viable regulatory solutions that align client needs with ELIQUENT capabilities and regional market requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and regulatory thought leadership skills.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, pricing judgment, and pipeline discipline.
  • Deep understanding of global life sciences market dynamics, regulatory pressures, agency expectations, and client buying behaviors.

  • Experience leading large proposal efforts, executive-level pursuits, or complex commercial negotiations for regulatory or scientific consulting services.
  • Advanced knowledge of global regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical development, biotechnology, medical device, clinical, quality, or market access functions.
  • Experience presenting regulatory strategy, commercial opportunities, or growth plans to executive leadership teams and boards.
  • Familiarity with strategic account planning, market development, or territory growth methodologies.
  • Experience developing regulatory thought leadership content and participating in industry speaking engagements.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory market trends and consulting industry dynamics across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Source and develop new Global Regulatory commercial opportunities through market engagement, client conversations, referrals, industry relationships, regional networks, and proactive outreach across the US, Europe, MENA, and Japan.
  • Own opportunities from initial signal through qualification, regulatory solution strategy, proposal development, negotiation, and close.
  • Identify client challenges where ELIQUENT can deliver differentiated support across regulatory strategy, product development, submissions, agency interactions, lifecycle management, regulatory remediation, and compliance-related needs.
  • Maintain disciplined visibility into opportunity status, next steps, decision-makers, commercial risks, regional considerations, and expected outcomes.
  • Expand relationships within existing strategic accounts by identifying new stakeholders, adjacent regulatory needs, and opportunities to deepen ELIQUENT’s role across the client organization.
  • Lead regulatory solution design for complex consulting opportunities in partnership with Global Regulatory Practice leadership, their designees, subject matter experts, and delivery teams.
  • Translate client needs into clear scopes, regulatory solution approaches, commercial strategies, and compelling client-facing recommendations, with Practice Area leadership alignment on technical approach and delivery model.
  • Partner with Global Regulatory Practice leadership or their designees to identify appropriate consultant profiles, delivery resources, assignment recommendations, and potential ICs or talent from the VP’s professional network as part of proposed solutions.
  • Guide qualification, pricing approach, proposal strategy, negotiation positioning, and executive client messaging for regulatory consulting opportunities.
  • Ensure regulatory solutions align with client objectives, Practice Area input, regional requirements, delivery feasibility, profitability expectations, and ELIQUENT’s capabilities.
  • Represent ELIQUENT and the Global Regulatory Practice externally at industry conferences, client forums, networking events, and market development activities across priority regions.
  • Build market visibility by contributing to regulatory thought leadership, speaking opportunities, panel participation, webinars, articles, and client-facing insights.
  • Track global regulatory trends, agency priorities, policy developments, competitive activity, and emerging client needs that may create commercial opportunities.
  • Translate market intelligence into opportunity themes, regulatory service positioning, targeted growth initiatives, and strategies for future growth opportunities.
