About The Position

Jackson Health System is seeking a transformational and dynamic operational nursing executive to serve as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for the Jackson Memorial Medical Center. This role provides leadership and oversight for Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), the nationally acclaimed Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center, Holtz Children's Hospital, and The Women's Hospital. The VP and CNO will provide decisive strategic and operational leadership to advance exceptional patient care across the medical center, grounded in High Reliability Organization principles. This executive will drive a culture of excellence, elevating quality, safety, patient experience, and continuous improvement through evidence-based practice and strong clinical and operational partnerships. The VP and CNO will set the vision for nursing, strengthen professional practice, and ensure superior patient and family-centered outcomes, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and effective medical staff collaboration. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP and CNO will uphold Jackson Health's Values and advocate for the organization's Mission and Vision to provide world-class, accessible care and achieve excellence as a nationally recognized, patient-centered academic health system.

Requirements

• Master's degree (doctorate strongly preferred).
• Distinguished executive nursing leadership experience within complex, safety net or academic health systems serving diverse and underserved populations.
• Proven success in leading a major academic medical center or a multi-site hospital enterprise.
• Demonstrated strategic and operational acumen required to guide large scale, high acuity environments.
• Proven record of driving quality outcomes and reducing length of stay.
• Demonstrated success in achieving or sustaining Magnet designation.
• Excellent communication and emotional intelligence.
• Deep commitment to caring for vulnerable communities.
• Ability to foster an exceptional learning and professional practice environment for nurses and all team members.
