About The Position

The Chemicals Advisory group is responsible for covering a broad range of large-cap corporate clients and financial sponsors with a highly successful track-record of advising on a broad set of transactions ranging from sell-side, buy-side, MOE, RMTs, JV structuring amongst others. Evercore seeks to hire a VP (1st Year) for its Chemicals Advisory group in New York, NY. Evercore’s differentiated approach to advisory provides Vice Presidents with the ability to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming, multi-billion-dollar transactions around the world. Vice Presidents play a central role in all aspects of execution, client management, and business development.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have solid quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients.
  • Knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is a must.
  • Responsibilities for a Vice President include management and execution of live transactions, assistance with new business development, and fostering of client relationships, with a particular focus on managing analysts and associates, overseeing financial and valuation analysis, resolving complex financial and accounting issues, performing industry and competitive analysis, and preparing client presentation materials.
  • Proven transaction execution experience across M&A and capital markets advisory.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and accounting principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and junior team members under tight timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize complex issues and provide actionable advice
  • High level of initiative, integrity, and professional maturity

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with Chemicals sector experience are preferred, though strong Industrials coverage experience will also be viewed favorably

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution of M&A and capital advisory transactions, including sellside and buyside M&A, activism and raid defense, divestitures, spin-offs, IPOs, equity and equity-linked capital raising, special committee engagements, debt and restructuring advisory, and the evaluation of strategic alternatives.
  • Manage and mentor Associates and Analysts, ensuring analytical rigor and high-quality execution across all workstreams.
  • Drive the preparation of client presentation materials, including management presentations, information memoranda, fairness opinions, board materials, and new business pitches.
  • Oversee due diligence processes and coordinate across clients, counterparties, law firms, consulting firms, and data room providers to maintain smooth transaction execution.
  • Engage in strategic dialogue with senior management teams and boards of directors to advise on industry trends, capital structure, and growth or portfolio optimization strategies.
  • Support the development of new business opportunities, including idea generation, client coverage, and strategic outreach.
