About The Position

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is seeking a Vice President, Business Unit in New York, New York. This role involves supporting private wealth management leadership by covering client relationships, preparing for and executing client meetings, and analyzing financial markets and industry trends. The position requires developing business strategy, conducting client research, managing team assignments, and supporting strategic initiatives. A key aspect of the role is preparing private wealth management leadership for various engagements, including speaking events, client conferences, media interviews, and internal firm events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing, Business Management, or a relevant field such as Chemistry.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Five (5) years with financial markets, financial services, wealth management and entrepreneurial/small business ecosystems.
  • Five (5) years with financial services, entrepreneurial/small business services, capital markets, or wealth management experience in a role that faces clients, external partners and stakeholders such as counterparty relationships.
  • Five (5) years analyzing financial data including business metrics, investment performance, and macro and microeconomic research data, and communicating commercial implications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Four (4) years with social media and marketing strategy including managing executive social media presence and copywriting posts.
  • Four (4) years presentations to senior leadership and working directly with senior leaders and management in a corporate setting.
  • Four (4) years authoring new content including articles, publications, or client newsletters.
  • Four (4) years writing talking points for senior leadership in preparation for client meetings, public speaking engagements, and media interviews, specifically focused on financial markets, the financial services industry, or business strategy.
  • Four (4) years managing events with senior leadership, clients, key external stakeholders and media representatives.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63 and SIE required or must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Help cover ongoing client relationships alongside private wealth management leadership.
  • Prepare for and execute follow-ups for client and prospective client meetings.
  • Analyze financial markets, client, and industry trends including themes from other business units to create content on behalf of the private wealth business, talking points, and client materials.
  • Develop and manage business strategy.
  • Conduct client and prospective client research.
  • Help run meetings.
  • Staff team based on client focus areas.
  • Assign client coverage.
  • Collaborate with clients to generate business.
  • Support business projects and long-term strategic initiatives for the private wealth business.
  • Support committee leadership positions and memberships of private wealth management leadership.
  • Prepare private wealth management leadership for speaking engagements, client conferences, events, social media, press interviews, cross-business unit and firmwide events and internal firm engagements including business-wide townhalls.
