About The Position

This role is based out of our Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Candidates must live, or be willing to relocate, to Phoenix to be considered. The Vice President of Brand Marketing is a senior enterprise leader responsible for defining and owning Sprouts’ end‑to‑end marketing strategy and go‑to‑market (GTM) approach. This role sets the strategic direction for how the brand shows up across all customer touchpoints, ensuring cohesive storytelling, disciplined execution, and measurable impact on sales, traffic, and brand health. This role requires a strong customer‑centric orientation, with a demonstrated ability to leverage customer insights, data, and analytics to inform brand strategy, guide creative development, and drive impactful activation. This leader partners closely with the Chief Customer Officer and cross‑functional executives to translate business priorities into integrated marketing strategies, supported by strong marketing operations, PR, field and local activation. The role oversees both long‑range brand strategy and day‑to‑day activation, balancing creativity with operational rigor. Prior brand marketing experience within retail or QSR environments is preferred, ensuring a strong understanding of omnichannel customer journeys, field‑level execution, and rapid test‑and‑learn cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required.
  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including significant time at the VP or senior leader level.
  • Proven success owning enterprise marketing strategy and go‑to‑market execution in a complex, cross‑functional environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in: Marketing operations and planning, Public relations and brand communications, Field marketing and local activation, Social media and digital brand strategy
  • Strong track record of leveraging customer insights and data to inform strategy and drive results.
  • Experience leading and influencing through agencies and external partners.
  • Exceptional executive communication, influence, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise marketing strategy and go‑to‑market framework, including planning processes, timelines, and execution cadence across the organization.
  • Translate corporate and merchandising priorities into clear, integrated marketing plans that drive traffic, sales growth, and long‑term brand equity.
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to Merchandising and Operations to align forecasts, campaign priorities, and investment decisions.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs tied to brand health, customer engagement, traffic, and sales performance; adjust strategy based on performance and insights.
  • Set the overall brand vision, positioning, standards, and storytelling approach, ensuring consistency across all channels and customer experiences.
  • Partner with Creative leadership to define creative strategy and oversee concept‑to‑execution across campaigns, content, and store environments.
  • Ensure all customer‑facing messaging strengthens the Sprouts brand and reinforces trust, relevance, and differentiation.
  • Build and lead a strong marketing operations capability, ensuring disciplined planning, prioritization, resource allocation, budgeting, and delivery.
  • Establish scalable processes that enable speed, clarity, and accountability across campaigns and channels.
  • Manage agency relationships and external partners, ensuring high standards, ROI discipline, and alignment to strategy.
  • Provide executive oversight of public relations and brand reputation, including earned media strategy, issues management, and key announcements.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across paid, owned, and earned channels in partnership with corporate communications.
  • Lead field marketing and in‑store activation strategies that bring national campaigns to life locally and drive measurable store‑level impact.
  • Ensure alignment between brand strategy, promotional activity, seasonal priorities, and in‑store execution including new store openings.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high‑performing brand marketing organization focused on strategic impact and executional excellence.
  • Create clarity around roles, decision rights, and ways of working across internal teams and partners.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive shifts, proactively evolving strategy to address opportunities and challenges.
