About The Position

The Financial and Valuation Advisory practice is a global leader, with expertise in transaction opinions, corporate valuation, and more. The Energy & Infrastructure team specifically advises across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Power/Utilities & Renewables, and Energy Transition. The Board Advisory & Opinions group provides advice to boards of directors and special committees on complex transactions, focusing on fiduciary duties, financial analysis, and valuation. This role will also advise financial sponsors on conflict transactions like continuation vehicles and cross-fund transactions, working closely with the Corporate Finance team. As the #1 global M&A fairness opinion advisor, Houlihan Lokey has strong credibility in transaction opinions, offering fairness, solvency, and valuation advisory services for various situations including M&A, SPACs/PIPEs, and activist shareholder situations. Vice Presidents in this role will manage projects, analyze financial information, perform due diligence, value companies, lead junior staff, prepare client presentations, assist with business development, and build client relationships.

Requirements

  • At least six years of experience in financial services
  • At least three years of investment banking, valuation or related experience
  • Experience in energy & infrastructure subsectors, ideally including Oil & Gas
  • Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling and analytical abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing associates, analysts or other personnel
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • An undergraduate degree with academic distinction and/or a graduate degree
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
  • Engineers by background with Oil & Gas experience and a desire for a more financially oriented position

Responsibilities

  • Act as a project manager on multiple simultaneous client projects
  • Analyze and explain historical and projected financial information
  • Perform business and financial due diligence
  • Value companies, businesses and securities
  • Direct Associates and Financial Analysts in the construction of complex financial models, financial analyses and client presentations
  • Prepare board/special committee presentations supporting advice and opinions in close collaboration with our Corporate Finance team and other industry experts across the firm
  • Help pitch engagements and participate in business development initiatives
  • Advise financial sponsors on conflict transactions, including continuation vehicles and cross-fund transactions
  • Play a key role in continuing to build our Energy & Infrastructure Financial and Valuation Advisory coverage team
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with current and prospective clients
