Vice President, Accounts

Situation GroupNew York, NY

About The Position

Situation is a full-service marketing and advertising agency specializing in live entertainment, arts, and culture. We partner with organizations that bring people together for shared experiences and build the strategies, campaigns, and partnerships that fill their houses. We are looking for a Vice President, Account Services to serve as a senior strategic leader within our Client Services department. You will shape the long-term vision for some of the agency's most significant clients, operating as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and influencing their business and marketing strategy at the enterprise level. This role is accountable for the commercial health of the portfolio, the growth of clients' businesses, and the development of a high-performing team of account leaders. You will report to agency leadership and operate as a member of the senior leadership team, with a voice in agency-wide strategic and structural decisions.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, or client services
  • Agency-side experience
  • Exposure to live entertainment, arts & culture, or media
  • Strategic thinker who has advised senior client stakeholders on business strategy, not just marketing tactics
  • Commercially fluent — understanding P&L dynamics, margin, forecasting, and agency profitability
  • Proven people leader who has built, developed, and retained high-performing teams
  • Skilled communicator and relationship-builder
  • Leads with candor, accountability, and warmth

Responsibilities

  • Define and steward the overarching business and marketing strategy for your client portfolio, ensuring every initiative ladders up to clients' enterprise objectives and long-range growth ambitions.
  • Own the commercial health of the portfolio — revenue forecasting, margin performance, pacing, and budget stewardship — driving accountability through your team while maintaining executive-level visibility into financial outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, positioning Situation as an indispensable strategic partner.
  • Architect organic growth strategies across existing clients: identifying whitespace opportunities, expanding scopes of work, and empowering your team to pursue and close incremental growth.
  • Represent Situation externally as a senior voice of the agency — at industry events, in client conference rooms, and among key decision-makers — cultivating relationships that generate future business.
  • Lead the hiring and development of your account team, building a leadership bench that scales with the business.
  • Coach and develop direct reports (Account Director, Account Supervisor, Senior Account Executive) with clear growth plans and succession pathways.
  • Partner across departments and verticals as a member of senior leadership to identify new revenue streams, improve operating systems, and drive organizational innovation agency-wide.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Health care plan (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Generous paid time off package that includes vacation, sick, “life happens” days, birthdays, summer Fridays and public holidays
  • Paid family leave
  • Cold brew coffee, snacks and fresh fruit
  • Wellness resources
  • Special access to New York City’s arts and entertainment scene
