About The Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a Vice Chair of Clinical Operations (VCO) for the Department. This individual will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the radiology department. This includes optimizing resource utilization, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering collaboration across service lines to support the department’s clinical, research, and educational missions. This position is at least a 0.30 FTE and reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Radiology. The Vice Chair of Clinical Operations will also join their respective subspeciality radiology division as a member of the faculty. Administrative support will be provided for the role.

Requirements

  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited institution in U.S., or equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate
  • Colorado Medical License at time of hire.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an academic medical center with leadership responsibilities.
  • ABR certified or eligible.
  • Mid-career associate or full professor rank.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with department leaders on strategic planning initiatives related to operational growth and infrastructure development.
  • Lead the integration of new technologies and innovations to enhance operational efficiency and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations regarding operations and clinical practices.
  • Lead crisis management initiatives to handle operational disruptions such as equipment failures or staffing shortages.
